Reviews

Looks nice but rails repeatedly fall offVerified ReviewerThe aesthetic is nice, and for what it is used for, it does the job for me. However, the rails on the side continuously fall off, it comes apart very easily if you slide the drawer in/out too quick/hard… its not the best design in terms of functionality and reliability. 2
Does what it says on the tin…Verified ReviewerEasy to assemble, sturdy and nice long drawers.5
So disappointed Verified ReviewerI’m a bit odd, I usually love putting together IKEA items, however, that was not the case with this heap of rubbish! It was badly fabricated - so many parts did not fit together as they should. Halfway through I seriously considered just taking the hit & putting it in the bin as it was frustrating me so much! I eventually finished it, but I’m not impressed. The wheels are absolute garbage as they are fixed so you can only push it forward & back & actually make it really hard to move in any other direction. The drawers don’t glide open & shut & all in all the unit feels cheap & nasty! 1
Excellent ValueVerified ReviewerWas looking for an under desk pedestal or cabinet for home office without spending a great deal of money. This cabinet is excellent value for money. Was hesitant given some reviews but I've found the cabinet to be perfectly sturdy when constructed. It is small, so only designed for items of stationary and for me, keeping my desk clutter free. I don't intend moving it around however the castors seem good quality and are also very secure once in place. Definitely recommend5
Just the jobVerified ReviewerI recently purchased a Helmer unit to store paper for my printer. The size was excellent as it fits under my computer desk perfectly. Plenty of storage for my printer paper and quite a few other bits. The quality of the unit is excellent, easy to assemble and easy to move on the castors.5
Office drawsVerified ReviewerAgreat item for holding smaller items. A little fiddly to assemble it Judy needs patience 😉5
Great for organisingVerified ReviewerBrilliant set of drawers which is perfect for make up5
Actually really goodVerified ReviewerSo good I bought a second. They took me half hour each to set up. They are a quite innovative ‘folding’ mechanism. You just fold the steel to fasten. Very clever. They won’t be the most solid stable furniture (you couldn’t sit on it) but for what I wanted it for (to file and sort my extensive beauty and skincare) it’s perfect: the drawers are surprisingly smooth. On my 2nd I decided not to put the drawer limiter to prevent the drawer pulling out completely. Because the steel is thin, they are very roomy compared to a thicker particle board. Where space is tight (central london apartment) this is important! I love them. The labels don’t stay in but I got a cheap label machine from Mr Bezos. I would again and highly recommend. They should design more in this range and construction. Well done ikea 5
I can see why some people don't like it.Verified ReviewerAlthough I managed to assemble it fine I can see why some people can struggle. It is mostly held together by metal clips and the drawers are made out of one large sheet of metal that you have to bend it into shape. The end product is surprisingly stable but I don't think it's going to last a moving. I still like it though.4
Do not buy thisVerified ReviewerThis is the poorest quality unit I have ever bought from ikea - the build is all ‘bend and fold’ meaning nothing is square, secure or permanent. Drawers don’t align, rattle, and the whole thing looks cheap (which to be fair, it is).1
Looks good - bit flimsyVerified ReviewerLooks good - bit flimsy but it’s not expensive4
A relatively easy to assembleVerified ReviewerA relatively easy to assemble really useful product which we use for separating and storing embroidery cottons5
The drawer is good forVerified ReviewerThe drawer is good for the price but I got 6 and 2 were off colour a beige colour that’s not even listed, I had to get 1 replaced three times as one had a dent when arriving. IKEA handled well but the product is very hit and miss.1
Good item and no issues with assemblyVerified ReviewerI needed a drawer unit to fit into a narrow space. This was the only one I could find narrow enough but still with plenty of drawers. Having read the reviews I was worried about all the comments regarding the assembly being very difficult and frustrating. However, being an experienced flat packer I decided to take a chance and I have to say I put it together in 30 minutes and had none of the problems mentioned in some of the reviews. It was one of the easiest flat packs I have ever assembled. You just have to make sure you push the drawer runners until they click and then they stay firmly in place and do not keep popping out. I love the drawer unit, it is perfect for what I needed. I would have put five stars but I deducted one only because I do think it is slightly over priced. Other than that, very happy4
ABSOLUTE GARBAGEVerified ReviewerNo screws to hold this flimsy piece of junk together, only for the castors and drawer handles. They're not missing; there aren't any used in the instructions. Everything "folds" together with tiny metal tabs. The runners for the drawers aren't even attached to the unit! Whatever is holding the in store example together, it's definitely not how you end up with it at home. Took forever to put together because it literally kept popping apart or unsecured pieces falling off.1
PoorVerified ReviewerI had high hopes for this item but they were dashed as soon as I started putting it together. The instructions could be a lot clearer, the runners do not stay in place as you move the item to build it, the bottom screws that stabilise the item don’t line up with their holes, and the same for the screw holes for the casters; I’ve ended up not using any of them. The securing tags also don’t match up properly for the drawer fronts, making them difficult to bend into place. Overall, the item will do the job I bought it for but it’s disappointing so many things didn’t line up properly, that’s just sloppy manufacturing, and poor construction design. If I’d had a workshop to redrill all the items that were off it might’ve gone together better, but as I live in a flat I don’t! IKEA need to take this off sale and redesign it because it’s not worth the £45 paid and hour and a half trying to get it together. As it is it’s a £25 product at most but could be so much better1
Great little set!Verified ReviewerGood drawers to go under my sons desk, easy for us to assemble. We got them in black and they look smart, but probably wouldn’t store heavy items in it. They will be fine for his stationery and school papers ready for secondary.5
collapsible drawersVerified ReviewerNo matter how tightly I click the runners into place, they fall out. I got sick of it at the weekend, bought a rivet gun and fixed the runners into the unit. I was unable to actually use the units before. I had to spend extra money making these useable. Or it would have been a waste of money.2
Waste of moneyVerified ReviewerLooked simple enough to build, 2 hours later it was dismantled and repackaged for a refund. As previous reviewers have stated, the screws don't fit, the runners fall out, the lack of screws to secure it correctly (folding down tiny bits of metal is NOT sufficient) make this item a nightmare to build (easy to deconstruct though which says it all!) Will be returning for a refund and looking for something of more suitable construction and durability.1
NightmareVerified ReviewerThe screws for the castors are too big so impossible to screw into the holes, I purchased this to replace another for tools, by the reviews, wish I had not bothered, as when you put it together the runners are totally useless1

Material

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.
