Good butAmyI guess it’s my fault but this bed is way too high for our room. Still not even sure what to do about it, return it or cut the legs?4
FantasticElizabethSturdy. Exactly what we wanted. Great for a small bedroom where you want to maximise space.5
Loft bed - BEAUTYDalwynI now have a great work station underneath our guest bed - it is tall enough for me to walk under (yes sometimes it helps to be 5ft - nothing. This is a sturdy good looking loft bed. Very happy with this purchase.5
Loft bedDanielleAmazing space under the loft bed. Comfortable mattress.5
Great space saverRebeccaAll 3 of my children are at an age that they are juggling wanting a bigger bed but also more space in their bedrooms to create their own sanctuary... The Stora loft beds have been awesome to help with that! Two of my children have them in their 'teen retreat' that has higher ceilings, and my daughter is in the main part of the house with regular height ceilings - so I've had to cut hers down. But they have been awesome beds creating more space for my junior crew - one has his desk and gaming set up under, another his bearded dragon enclosure, and third has her drum kit. My only criticism is that one of my children (approx 60kg) has had some of the steps on his ladder cracking. I would expect them to last a little longer than 18 months.5

It’s a great looking bedAlintaIt’s a great looking bed but the wood dents very easily and the main support beam has cracked and we are not sure if it is just the paint that has cracked or it’s structurally damaged.1
QualityLorraineB1234The quality of this bed is amazingly strong and I absolutely recommend.5
Too high, not stable, part missing.GcmTOriginal review with details as to the terrible experience and lack of service was refused to be published by IKEA.1
Great qualityShopgood1I bought this a month ago for my daughter, she’s a tween but is already adult height and she loves it. We can stand up underneath and she loves being able to spread out in the bed. It does move a bit but that doesn’t make it feel unsafe. It is sturdy. And I am a larger woman and feel totally supported when I climb up the ladder to peak in on her in the bed.5
Unstable, weak, breaks easilySleeping on the floorThe main support beam arrived cracked in the box. Not a great start. After Ikea missed the delivery date 3 times they finally delivered a replacement piece. However as soon as we started screwing the rest together the other pieces started cracking. Some if the holes didn't line up correctly. Some of the locking nuts twisted around inside the wood as they didn't fit the bolts correctly, further splitting the weak wood. I've assembled a lot of Ikea products (20+) over the years and this is easily the worst. This bed is only good for firewood.1
Awesome bedTr3777We’ve had the bed for 3 months - bought for my 12 year old who loves it. Only problem was it was too tall & she couldn’t sit up without smacking her head on the roof so we chopped 30cm off the legs.4
Great idea for a shared spaceJacqui122This was a great in between option for our tween (11 Yr old) boy. He is able to spread out a bit more in the double loft bed, while his younger brother has a king single underneath with a good size set of IKEA drawers as well. The addition of LED lights underneath looks great.4
So wobbly!KittyAUSHad the bed for about a month now. It's solid timber frames made me think it's going to be okay since it's so high up but the design is not stable enough. Everytime I climb up to bed or even turn over in my sleep the whole bed frame wobbles. Not good if you move a lot in your sleep! I called to ask if IKEA had wall mounts or anything to help with this bed, they advised me to go to my local hardware store and seek that out myself. Which makes this a really incomplete product if you have to fix their design flaws in order for the the consumer to use this. I read the product review before buying and others did mention the same thing, so I was hoping IKEA would actually listen to their customers and do something about it, guess not. Also can you make a slightly shorter version of this bed? Not everyone is 2m tall, so really don't need it that high up.2
DJ88Very comfortable and cozy Good as a teenage bed4
Great bed for studio apartment livingMummacatMy grandson bought this for me. I couldn't be happier5
Creakycustomer12343454I have one of these beds and I hate every night sleep with it. It creaks when I roll over or get on to it. I'm always having to tighten the screws and some of it can only be tightened when the mattress is off, so it's a big hassle!1
The kids love it.bluecowgirlI bought two of these beds for my boys. They love how big they are and how much extra room they have in their bedrooms now.5

Function solution

Be aware of the ceiling height!

STORÅ and TROMSÖ loftbeds require that you have a ceiling height of at least 2,70 m. Otherwise the beds will not fit.

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favourite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful, renewable and recyclable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood. This way, every tree is put to good use that little extra.
