Material

What is rapeseed wax?

All candles in our range are good at creating a cosy atmosphere and we choose various materials so that we always end up with the best shape, function and quality. Rapeseed wax is well-suited for tealights or other candles in holders, and is made of oil from rapeseed – a versatile plant that paints the landscape yellow when it blooms. Using rapeseed is a natural result of our decision that all materials we use in our candles will be 100% renewable or recycled by 2030.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

“Design is an important part of sustainability since the lifespan of a product also depends on how much people love it. So when I designed the glass scented candle holder for IKEA, I wanted to make it so beautiful that people would not want to discard the holder after the candle burns out. I hope they keep it instead – and reuse it in new ways for a long time.”
