Twelve-thousand people around the world were interviewed for the annual IKEA Life at Home Report, and 69% of people said music makes a home. ‘Traditionally we’ve thought about lighting as the main way to set the mood, but this research told us if you want a complete atmosphere-maker, you need to look at sound and music too,’ says Björn Block, business leader of IKEA Home Smart. ‘Music is a much more emotional thing than lighting, with many more opportunities for personalisation.’
