Does IKEA have a warranty for items that are damaged in transit or during assembly?
Have your IKEA Family card scanned at the checkout and receive 14 days 'oops' insurance for free. If something breaks on the way home or during assembly, you can exchange it for free.
Were your just bought items damaged on the way or during assembly?
One of the advantages of the IKEA Family membership is that you can exchange purchases that are damaged during your own transport from the IKEA store home or during assembly, free of charge.
The following conditions must be done:
- Make sure you have your IKEA Family card scanned at the time of purchase.
- You can show the original receipt or proof of payment.
- You return the damaged product as soon as possible and within 14 days after purchase to the customer service of one of our locations (this does not have to be the location of purchase).
- You have not previously claimed an article for the ‘oops’ insurance in the past six months.
- The damaged item is not a mirror, glassware, IKEA Food product, product from the Second Chance corner, or previously exchanged under the ‘oops’ insurance.
You can find the full terms and conditions of the ‘oops’ insurance in our Terms and Conditions of sale.
