How does Parcel Delivery work?
Select the 'Delivery' option at checkout and enter your delivery address. You will receive a confirmation email, and once your order is processed, you’ll get the tracking information. On the delivery day, make sure the parcel can be left in a safe place if you're not home, and check your order immediately upon receipt. If you notice any issues (such as missing or damaged items), contact IKEA customer service.
Placing an Order
- Add your items to your shopping cart and choose the Delivery option at checkout.
- Select your preferred delivery date.
- Enter your delivery address and view the price based on the weight of your order.
- Confirm your order and check that your payment details and delivery choices are correct.
- Parcel orders cannot be changed or cancelled.
Order Processing and Shipping
- Once the order is processed, you'll receive a Track & Trace link via email.
- Your order may be split into multiple parcels. The Track & Trace link from PostNL or DHL will show how many parcels to expect.
Delivery Process
- The Track & Trace link will show the estimated delivery window. This becomes available on the day of delivery. Any delays will also be shown via the same link.
- Make sure you are home or that there is a place available where the courier can leave the delivery. Otherwise, your parcel may be taken to a PostNL or DHL pickup point, where it will be held for 5–7 days before being returned to IKEA and refunded automatically.
- If you know that you or your neighbours won’t be available to receive the delivery, you can easily reschedule through the PostNL or DHL portal.
After Delivery
- Check for missing or damaged items.
- Any missing or damaged items must be reported to IKEA as soon as possible, and no later than 30 days after delivery.
- For damaged items, you can submit a claim yourself via your purchase overview. Select the order and click Submit claim. This self-service tool is only available for online purchases.
To report missing items, ask a staff member in the chat or call customer service. - If you are an IKEA Family member, you can track the status of your reports (Claims or Cases) via Purchases and Reports.
