Information about your delivery
IKEA closely follows the developments around the corona virus. The health and safety of our customers and co-workers is always a top priority for IKEA.

Therefore our delivery service will temporarily only bring products to your front door. This is to avoid direct personal contact as much as possible. If you live in an apartment, the order will still be delivered to the front door of your apartment. If there is no lift available, the order will be delivered up to the 4th floor.

At this moment we’re experiencing a larger amount of online orders than usual. That means it might take longer to deliver your order to your home. Would you like to have your order at home quicker? Use Click and Collect and pick up your online order at the store of your choice.

Depending on the capacity, not all delivery and pick up options are always available. We hope you will understand and we apologize for any inconvenience.

    Most IKEA products are designed to be easy to transport yourself. But of course we are also happy to deliver your purchases to your home.

      • Your purchases will be ready within 4 hours of ordering.

        Parcel delivery by PostNL

        • Parcel post from 0 to 15 kg: € 2.99
        • Parcel post from 15 to 23 kg: € 9.99
        • The order fits into one package and is 170x73x53 cm large.
        • As soon as IKEA transfers your package to PostNL, you will receive an email with the Track & Trace code from PostNL.

          • Delivery of large and heavy furniture and products weighing more than 23 kg.
          • Up to 500 kg: € 39.-
          • Over 501kg: € 69.-

            • Take all your purchases with you in a rental trailer.
            • Pay € 15.- for the first 2 hours; after that it's € 2.50 per extra hour.
            • FAMILY Members pay € 15.- for the first 3 hours.
            • Put down a € 100.- security deposit, valid with purchase receipt and bring a white license plate.

              Rent a van

              • Get your stuff home quickly and easily!
              • Pay € 17.50 per hour (including 30 km free, excluding fuel) and a one-time registration fee.
              • € 10.- registration fee for IKEA Family members and € 25.- for non-members.
              • You rent the van from KAV*. You can find the KAV kiosk at the customer service desk in every IKEA store. *KAV is Kan Alles Vervoeren (can transport anything) vehicle rental company.

              What does it cost to have an online order delivered?

              The cost of delivery for an online order depends on the way in which your order is delivered. Your order can be delivered in two ways, namely by parcel delivery or by truck.

              Parcel delivery
              If your order meets the conditions described above, it can be delivered as a package which costs € 2.99.

              Delivery by truck
              If your order does not meet the conditions for parcel delivery, it will be delivered by truck. You pay a price starting at € 39.-.

              Can I have my delivery delivered to the floor I live on?

              Our delivery service will temporarily only bring products to your front door. This is to avoid direct personal contact as much as possible. If you live in an apartment, the order will still be delivered to the front door of your apartment. If there is no lift available, the order will be delivered up to the 4th floor.

              An order that you have delivered to your home can also be delivered to the floor you live on. However, it is important that you inform us of this when you place your order. Our transporter can then take this into account when organising the delivery schedule. The transporter will then ensure that sufficient time is scheduled for delivery.

              What is the delivery time of my order?

              The delivery time of your order depends on the type of order you placed: online or in-store. If you have ordered custom-made products, the delivery time will be different.

              The delivery time of your kitchen depends on the type of worktop you ordered. Cabinets and appliances that are in stock can usually be delivered within a week.

              If you placed your order online, it will be delivered by parcel post or truck. You can check the status of your order and the expected delivery date via Track & Trace:

              Can I change the delivery date or the delivery address of my order?

              Would you like to notify us of a change of address (e.g. in case of a move) or would you like to have your delivery delivered on a different day? In most cases we can adjust this for you. Please contact customer service as soon as possible.

              If you placed an order that will be delivered by PostNL, we are unfortunately unable to change the address and delivery date.


              What are the terms and conditions for trailer rental?

              There are a number of terms and conditions that apply when renting a trailer.

              Tip: If you open the “Product information” on IKEA.nl below the product image, you can see the packaging sizes and the weight of the product. This will enable you to determine whether a product will fit into your car before your visit.


              What are the specifications of the trailer?

              If you rent a trailer from IKEA, it will have the following characteristics:

              • hood to keep your purchases dry
              • intermediate cable, drawbar lock and adapter plug (suitable for 7-pin and 13-pin plugs)
              • internal dimensions (length x width x height): 246 x 131 x 150 cm
              • exterior width: 185 cm, exterior height: 210 cm
              • maximum load capacity of 320 kg and a total maximum weight of 740 kg (weight of the trailer + maximum weight of the load)

              Can I rent a car or van from IKEA?

              Yes, at most IKEA stores this can be done through our partner KAV4GO. Simply rent a van from IKEA and take your new purchases straight home with you. A quick and easy way to get your purchases home, no matter what the weather!

              Can I rent a cargo bike from IKEA?

              Don't have a car to transport your purchases? At IKEA Groningen you can rent a cargo bike as well. It costs € 2.50 (IKEA Groningen) per hour. It is not possible to reserve a cargo bike in advance.

              The following conditions apply to the rental of a cargo bike:

              • You can use the cargo bike for a maximum of 3 hours.
              • We require a deposit of € 100.-
              • You can only rent a cargo bike on presentation of valid proof of identity.
              • You can only rent a cargo bike if this is necessary for transporting your IKEA purchases.

              For IKEA Groningen, there are several additional conditions for renting a cargo bike. Ask about these at the customer service desk.
