Important information regarding returns & exchanges
Because our stores are currently closed, it is temporarily not possible to exchange or return products in the store. However, IKEA gives you the possibility to return or exchange your products within 365 days. We look forward to seeing you again after our stores have reopened. Online orders can still be returned within 14 days.
Not satisfied with your purchase? You have 365 days to return or exchange your products. As a IKEA Family member you can return or exchange products unlimited. Returns and exchanges are possible at all IKEA stores and online.
You need to bring the following with you:
- The unused items in their original packaging
- The receipt or other proof of payment
Unfortunately, items from the bargain corner, custom-made products and mattresses that have been removed from the original packaging cannot be exchanged or returned. Read more about our guarantee policy and terms and conditions.
Returns to the store
Would you prefer to return your order to one of our stores? No problem, just go to the customer service desk.
It will not cost you anything, other than a little time, to return your order to one of our stores.
Was your order delivered by parcel and would you like to return it? After completing and submitting the form, you'll receive a return label and be able to return the parcel to IKEA.
It costs 2.99 to return products in a parcel.
Returns by truck
Was your order delivered by truck? If so, register the return items by filling in the contactform. You will receive a confirmation by email with further instructions.
It costs 39.- to return products by truck.
FAQs about the exchanges and returns
How long do I have to return my order?
If you want to return an order, you can do so by using one of the above options. This is possible from the day of receipt until 365 days after delivery. As a IKEA Family member you can return or exchange products unlimited
If you refused an order at the door, we will contact you ourselves.
What should I do when bringing my online order back to the store?
- Bring the products with you.
- Bring the email with the order confirmation along.
- Don't forget the payment confirmation and/or delivery slip.
- Go to customer service.
When exchanging or returning products to one of our stores, we will refund the purchase price, credit your credit card or have it refunded by Klarna or Afterpay.
How much will it cost to return my order?
You are always responsible for the cost of returning an order. To return a package, the cost is EUR 2.99; for returns by truck, the cost is 39.-.
If you return your online order to us in full within 14 days, the cost of your order, including the original transport costs, will be refunded to your bank account.
If you return your online order after 14 days, only the value of the item will be refunded. You will be responsible for the original transport costs.
How will I get my money back if I return a product?
If you return a product or cancel an order, the purchase price will be refunded using the same method that you used for payment.
Can I reorder parts or fittings?
It's so easy to lose a screw, plug or other item, for example, when moving house. So it's nice to know that IKEA has a wide range of replacement items in stock at customer service in store. If we don't have the part in stock, in many cases we can re-order it for you and send it to your home address.
How do you identify the fittings that we can reorder for you? These parts can be identified by the six-digit part number provided in the assembly instructions. Give this number to customer service and we'll be happy to help you.
