What is IKEA's return policy?

Your satisfaction with your IKEA purchase is important to us. If you are not completely happy or simply changed your mind, you can return your unused products within 365 days. IKEA Family members can even return items after this 365 days period. We will provide a full refund for items returned with proof of purchase during this period. Mattresses can be exchanged for another mattress up to 90 days.

You can return or exchange all IKEA products bought from IKEA stores, via remote shopping and from the IKEA online website. The only exception is food which has been opened, defrosted or expired.
We will accept the return within 365 days if the product is in re-sellable condition. IKEA Family members can return items also outside of the 365 days period.

The item can be opened and assembled for testing, but there must not be heavy signs of use, damage, stains or marks on the item. You don't need to have the original packaging to be able to return. You also cannot make any modifications to the product such as drilling holes, painting or removing parts. The item is then no longer as it was designed and we cannot sell it again.

In store, we will assess whether the return items are in re-sellable condition.

Refunds
We will give you a full refund (of the purchased sale or retail price) via your original payment method when you have the receipt. If you don't have the receipt, then we refund the amount on a digital IKEA refund card.
Exceptions are food items, customer made items, store-bought opened matrasses and pillows, and items with small signs of use. These will always be refunded on a digital refund card, even when you have the receipt.

If you want to exchange an item, you need to return it first and then make a new purchase.

Faulty items
If you are returning a faulty item that was not damaged by you, we will either exchange or refund the item.

Refer to IKEA refund policy for full terms and conditions regarding IKEA returns.
