Six storage tips for your kitchen pantry

Organise your kitchen pantry with these six storage tips to help you spend, waste and stress less, and enjoy more time around the table.

1. Door storage

Prevent snacks and sauce packets from getting lost by keeping them in sight with hooks and clips. Hang a shopping list on the door to help you stick to your weekly meal plan. You can even write names (or reminders) on the hook labels so that everyone has their own space for snacks.

2. Transparent storage

Transparent food containers show exactly how much you have of something, so you can better plan your trip to the supermarket and avoid overspending and wasting food. Try labelling each container and add the best before date, so you know when it's time to refill the product.

3. Simple organisation

Use baskets to keep all your tall bottles, like oils and sauces, together, which will also protect the pantry from any spills. Organise the baskets according to meals, so you don't have to hunt for ingredients, or group foods together for anyone with food allergies.

4. Everything within easy reach

Use handy steel mesh baskets, so you can easily take out dried goods and put them back. They can also be used for fruit and vegetables that you don't keep in the fridge.

5. Open the drawer and grab what you need

Set up a pantry drawer to keep all tins, spreads and spices in one place. That way you can easily access what you need without having to pile them up... and them falling over later! By using dividers or drawer accessories, you can keep all your cans all in one place.

6. Create more storage space

Add additional shelves to create more space for jars and other items with different heights. You can maximise pantry space by using hanging baskets, so you can store food like tortillas and packets of noodles flat underneath the shelf.
