Meet the people

CARMEN GIMÉNEZ

An example of how to adapt to change

Carmen knows what it's like to have your life drastically alter overnight. In 2010, she was the victim of an awful incident of gender-based violence that left her in a wheelchair. But, far from giving up, she chose to turn her life around and become a Paralympic athlete, showing that even though it's not always easy, we can do anything we put our minds to with strength and a desire to keep pushing ourselves.

SOL CURIEL

Sol managed to combine both of her passions, sewing and acting, and turn it into her own way of earning a living.

Sounds brilliant doesn't it? But what isn't so brilliant is the space she had to work with. The studio urgently needs a makeover so that her creations can shine like the true works of art that they are.

ÁNGEL AND ALICIA

They were on a journey of raising six children when a set of twins came along.

Now the couple has eight little ones aged between eight months and 13 years old. Their living room was out of date and needed redecorating to accommodate all the various needs of the whole family: living area, play area and dining area.

AÍDA

The love story between Aída and her attic has hit a rough patch

Aída fell in love with a small but sweet attic and didn't hesitate to sign the contract. But problems started to appear. Her new home needed a lot of work to make the most of the space and allow room for activities. Will we be able to transform her home into the multifunctional space that she needs?

JESÚS, MIGUEL AND SAMUEL

From a student flat to a home more suited to working life.

The lives of these three friends has changed, but their flat hasn't. University is over and working life is their new reality, they need a space that is suited to their new needs to create a bit of order and feel like their home is evolving with them.

IVÁN AND MARTA

They need a more organised space for developing the local talent.

ENTRECOMILLAS is a collaborative space that is used for various artistic and cultural activities for local people. However, the lack of orgnisation and supplies has made it a little bit harder to make the most of it. IKEA stepped in to make a change in a space that's designed for community creativity.

FELISA

She is starting her retirement and needs a space where she can enjoy cooking.

After a life dedicated to baking, Felisa still wanted to have fun in the kitchen. IKEA gave her advice for achieving an ergonomic kitchen to keep her cooking!

AMANDA VEGA

She's starting university, but her room still feels like a child's room.

Her siblings and friends have slowly been leaving the small town where she lives, which is why her room now has to be a place for her to socialise, study, play and relax, all in one. Luckily, IKEA has a guide full of the best tips for this difficult challenge. Ready player two!
