Why does IKEA recall SMÖJTRÄD unscented chandelier candles, 25 cm?
IKEA recalls SMÖJTRÄD unscented chandelier candles, 25 cm, due to the risk of fire and burns.
Due to a manufacturing error, some SMÖJTRÄD candles may contain additional wicks embedded within the wax. In the affected products, the additional wicks may ignite, causing a larger-than-expected flame and posing a risk of fire or burn injuries.
Customers who have purchased these candles are urged to stop using them immediately and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund or replacement. No proof of purchase is required.
Affected products can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund or replacement. Proof of purchase (i.e. a receipt) is not required. Additionally, IKEA encourages customers to spread the word about this recall, especially if they know that the recalled product was offered or sold to someone else.
IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this recall may cause.
