An ergonomic office chair that has a lot of functions that allow you to easily adapt the chair to your body.

Height-adjustable seat allows you to adjust the height so that back and legs are at a 90° angle.

Synchronised tilt mechanism allows the chair to move with you. The backrest moves more than the seat when you lean back, so torso/hips open up. This improves circulation and keeps energy levels up.

As you recline, the synchronised tilt mechanism allows feet to stay on the floor while your gaze remains straight ahead. Your chest stretches without adding pressure on thighs, improving circulation.

To adjust the tilt tension, turn the knob under the seat to increase or decrease the resistance.

The high backrest and the curved shape of the chair, provide good lower back support and prevent your back from getting tired. You sit comfortably, longer and with a relaxed posture.

The shape of the armrests provides good support and helps you find a good sitting position.

The mesh material of the backrest lets air through to your back during long sitting periods.

A safety function locks the castors when no one is sitting in the chair and keeps it securely in place when you stand up.

The castors are designed to provide ease of movement and maneuverability on both carpeted and hard floors as well as on uneven surfaces.

Comfortable until you sit at a deskSeanI tried all the available office chair options in store and the Markus stood out as being the most comfortable. Unfortunately, it's not the most practical. When sitting at a desk, the arms are just too high and deep to slide under the desk and sit in a comfortable position. The depth is probably the bigger issue as when I'm not at a desk they feel fine. I think that even if the arms were kept the same, but the entire arm piece was shifted back the problem could be somewhat solved, if not completely. I don't think the arms need to extend all the way to the front of the seat as that area can't be used anyway at a normal desk set up. You only have to look online at the amount of modifications people have made to try to alleviate the problem to know that this is not a small issue. I'm quite surprised that IKEA does not offer alternate arms or a mod kit. One thing that I do associate with IKEA is practicality and this chair does not meet that criteria.3
It's fine.KylieThis chair is fine in short bursts, but it you need to use it for a full days work, get a different one. The armrests are not adjustable, and are hard enough that they will hurt your arms, and the base itself just isn't solid and comfortable.3

great chair but won't last the distanceLindyThe user loves this chair and will only have this chair but don't expect it to last the warranty period and there will be no way to claim because the chair will have wear and tear. Our old one made a loud terrible noise but we couldn't return it and we had to buy a new one. It was 5 years old, but the warranty is 10 years. We eventually got rid of the old one in buy back but they gave us half the minimum buy back.3

I bought this chair as a replacement for for a chair that I bought at IKEA 15 years ago. It's been a great chair, and helpfully this one will be as well. Easy to assemble, took about 20 minutes once everything was un packed.
