GRANN cover is made of grain leather which is a very high-quality leather. As it ages it becomes softer and develops a darker tone and fine patina.

High Quality "But" Not for everyoneGregBeautiful quality but the wheels only unlock when you sit down. This can mean the chair is an obstacle in your office. Backrest to swab alignment is off too as swab further back/backrest too far forwards. Not planning on changing it to another though.3

It looks great, but not the most comfortableSymurI have been waiting for this chair to become available again in Ikea Perth. I really loved how elegant it looks. It feels comfortable when I tried to sit on it in the store. But buyers beware, this is not the most comfortable chair for a prolonged use. I've used a lot of different office chairs in the past (with cheaper price tag), and they are more comfortable even on prolonged used. But this one, I already started developing pain on my thighs, legs, and the worst on my butt even for a short period of time (3-4 hours). It feels like I'm always sliding to the front edge of the chair. I only had this chair for 2 days and I am already regretting buying it. For the price of $399, I say it is not worth it.2

It's an expensive chair (for my budget) and overall I feel the leather and metal is worth it. The only thing that feels cheep is the back rest adjusting dial is made from rough plastic. Gave me Hip pain that shoots down my thigh to calfMannyEverything was fine before I bought this chair, it’s been 30 days, from day 1 it has given me hip pain, that shoots down my leg up to calf, it was very painful for first 2 weeks, I didn’t think it was the chair, until I started using it again. I’m 6’1” tall, there’s something wrong with this chair, it’s started giving me tail bone pain too, not sure what to do with a $400 chair I bought from IKEA in Perth AU2
Comfy and stylishJoanneA fabulous chair and my hubby tells me it was an easy assemble although I took 1 star off because one of the parts packed in the box was the wrong one. IKEA customer service was fast and friendly. We got a refund and then purchased another of the same and they opened the box with us to check it before we left the store. Overall I rate the chair super comfy and the service high. 4

Amazing chairKevinUsed this chair for 4 years WFH. ** PROS **: It's fantastic and no more sore back with the supportive lumbar curve even after sitting 8+ hours a day. The leather is really soft and has held up well. I'm 170cm and its the most comfortable chair in the IKEA range. No leather cracking, i use leather cleaner and conditioner for cars once a year on it. ** CONS **: In hot weather it doesn't breathe as well as mesh. The buttons on the seat may pinch skin when wearing shorts. Arm rest gets dirty from friction, buttons absorb colour from jeans rubbing. One arm rest foam is tilted to the side now from leaning on it.4

What are leathers, skins and hides?

Leathers, skins and hides are durable, hardwearing materials that we strive to produce as responsibly as possible. That’s why we only use by-products from the food industry and we have requirements for traceability to slaughterhouses, thereby ensuring ethically correct slaughters. The materials are then treated so that they’re usable for home decoration products. In this process we don’t allow the use of chrome, which is potentially harmful to both humans and the environment.

The challenge with ALEFJÄLL swivel chair was to combine retro style from the 1950s with the demands on function and comfort we have today. It is fully adjustable to your body, without looking technical, so it fits at home as well as in the office. I think chairs should look good from behind and I am particularly pleased with how the adjustable backrest integrates with the metal frame. ALEFJÄLL is comfortable, reliable and convivial – functional and stylish at the same time.
