How to get it

JÄSNING

Perfect size every time. A proofing basket holds the dough in place and gives bread the right height when it rises – and gives the loaf a nice pattern when it’s done. After all, we also eat with our eyes.

Product details

Before using your proofing basket for the first time, it should be treated as follows: Moisten the proofing basket with water. Sprinkle flour over the basket. Tip and gently shake out excess flour and allow the proofing basket to dry.

Dust the proofing basket with flour before each use, make sure the flour covers all surfaces and gets in all grooves. Tip and gently shake out excess flour.

The first times you use the proofing basket, you may need to use extra flour to prevent the dough from sticking. It can take up to three uses before the proofing basket works optimally.

Material

What is rattan?

Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested. Since it is a natural material and the products are often handmade by skilled craftspeople, each object gets a completely unique look.
