What can I do if my item gets damaged while taking it home or during assembly?
Did your item get damaged by accident while taking it home or while assembling it? If you used your IKEA Family card when you bought it, you may be able to use the Oops insurance. Use this article only if the item was accidentally damaged while taking it home or during assembly.
I used my IKEA Family card when I bought the item
- you can show proof of purchase
- you report the damaged item within 14 days of purchase
- you have not made a claim through the Oops insurance in the past 6 months
- the item is not a mirror, glass item, IKEA Food product, item from the Circular Hub, or an item that was already replaced through the Oops insurance
- the damaged item, if you are going to the store
- your receipt, invoice or order number
