How does IKEA make sure the products are safe to use?

At IKEA, we think safety is very important. We all want our home to be a safe place, not least for children. If we work together, we can reduce the risk of accidents. We design all our products with a safety first principle. If something does go wrong, then please get in touch with us!

Glassware and glass products
Most of the glass products from IKEA are made from reinforced glass, also sometimes called safety glass. This type of glass is stronger than regular glass and is less prone to breaking. If it does break, it will create a lot of smaller parts, instead of creating large, sharpe glass shards that could create injury.

Do you have glassware or a glass product that has shattered, please contact our customer service. We are ready to help!

Anchor your furniture to the wall!
We have a guide to wall anchoring on IKEA.nl. If your wall material is not listed here or if you have any questions, we recommend contacting an expert or a local DIY store.

If you need a new package with anti-tip device/bracket material, you can order it online yourself. For your order you need a part number of the product. You can find this in the assembly manual.

If you don't have this or do not know this, you can contact our customer service. You can also pick up the part you need at the customer service desk of an IKEA store. Only the name of the product can therefore be sufficient.
