How do I make a fitting for my IKEA kitchen?
If your kitchen doesn't connect to the wall or there is space left between two cabinets, use a fitting piece to fill the space. To make a fitting piece, use a covering panel that you cut to size yourself.
A fitting piece can be secured with a corner bracket. These brackets are not included in the delivery, but can be purchased from a hardware store. This way you can also place an adapter piece between a corner cabinet of 128 cm and the base cabinet which is at right angles to it.
You must always place an adapter piece of at least 5 cm between the wall and the cabinet for the refrigerator. This will allow you to open the door of your fridge or freezer far enough so that the vegetable and freezer drawers can be opened.
A fitting piece is required for the 128 cm METOD Bottom-Door Cabinet because there must be enough space for the cabinet door to open fully. The fitting piece and mounting hardware are included with the cabinet.
To mount this fitting piece you do not use a covering panel, but you use a 10 cm high drawer front that you saw. The cut is then neatly finished off with a FORBÄTTRA cover strip. Mounting brackets and screws for the fitting are included in the scope of delivery.
