To ensure safety, we recommend that all cabinets (PAX, BILLY, BESTÅ, bathroom, etc.) sold by IKEA are attached to the wall. Use the included fittings for this and follow the assembly instructions of your cabinet.
Wall and ceiling materials may differ. Therefore, always use screws, plugs and other mounting material that is suitable for the material of your wall or ceiling.

How do I connect my IKEA cabinets?
You can assemble your cabinets tightly together by using connection fittings. You can order the connection fittings with the following two part numbers: 100402 (male) and 100644 (female) on this page.
To connect the cabinets you attach the cabinets to each other with, for example, a glue clamp. You drill out one of the holes in the shelf supports and attach the connection fittings. You do this twice, once at the top of the bookcase and once at the bottom. Take a look at the assembly instruction for a more detailed explanation.

BILLY
Can I place the BILLY bookcase tightly against the wall?
The BILLY bookcases have a cut-away at the back of the cabinet at the bottom (8 x 2 cm). This way you can place the cabinet tightly against the wall without the plinth getting in the way.
BESTÅ
Do I need a suspension rail for my BESTÅ?
Do you want to hang a BESTÅ cabinet on the wall? Then you can use the BESTÅ suspension rail for this (you need 1 rail per 60 cm element). It is important to make sure that there is at least 5 cm between the top of the base element and the ceiling. This is necessary to be able to lift the base element onto the suspension rail.
The BESTÅ TV cabinet is not hung with a suspension rail. Hang it on the wall as mentioned in the assembly instructions or use your included legs.
