How do I install doors and drawer fronts in my METOD kitchen?
If you have questions while installing doors and fronts, or want to know which parts you need, you can find your answers here.
Yes, that's possible! Various connection sets are available to connect fronts or doors to each other.
- UTRUSTA connecting rail for fronts
The UTRUSTA front connecting rail allows you to connect individual drawer fronts. For example, you can link two or more fronts as a front for a high drawer. - UTRUSTA connection fittings for doors
The UTRUSTA door connection fitting is designed to connect two doors together. You can then place these linked doors as one door in front of a cupboard, for example with a high refrigerator or freezer. - VÅGLIG connecting rail
Use the VÅGLIG connection rail if you want to connect several fronts for a dishwasher. This rail can be combined with the IKEA dishwashers mounting system. - Connection fittings for fridge front
Connection fittings to mount a kitchen front onto a fridge are always supplied with the fridge.
You can choose to create more space in your kitchen by placing extra hidden drawers behind a door or drawer front, so-called inner drawers.
An inner drawer is made up of a kitchen drawer with an UTRUSTA drawer front. UTRUSTA drawer fronts are narrower than regular drawer fronts. For an inner drawer, the drawer runners are placed a little further back in the cabinet. Together with the narrower front, this ensures that the drawer falls within the cabinet frame.
Our METOD kitchen system uses UTRUSTA hinges. To help you determine which hinges to use, see the overview of our UTRUSTA hinges below.
- UTRUSTA 110° hinges
You use these hinges for a door of a cabinet with shelves and for the METOD bottom corner cabinet with a width of 128 cm. These hinges come with a built-in damper. - UTRUSTA 153° hinges
You use these hinges for a cupboard with inner drawers behind the door and for the 88 cm wide METOD corner base cupboard. The door must be able to open wider than a normal door, so that you can open the inner drawers without any problems. These hinges come with a built-in damper.
Please note: the two UTRUSTA hinges for the METOD corner base cabinet with a width of 88 cm that you need to connect the two doors together can be found in the cabinet packaging. - UTRUSTA 95° hinges
You use these hinges for a kitchen cabinet in which a refrigerator, freezer or fridge freezer combination is placed. They ensure that you cannot open the refrigerator door too far to prevent damage to the appliance. - UTRUSTA 95° hinges for corner base cabinet frame
These hinges are used for the 128 cm wide METOD base corner cabinet. They ensure that the cabinet door cannot be opened too far, helping to prevent damage to the cabinet next to it. - UTRUSTA 45° hinges
You use these hinges with the METOD top corner cabinet, which is mounted at an angle in the corner. These hinges come with a built-in damper. - UTRUSTA hinges for horizontal doors
For a door on a horizontal METOD wall cabinet, use a drawer front instead of a door. The drawer front is fixed with UTRUSTA hinges for horizontal doors. These hinges come in two sizes: small and large. In addition, they are also available with a built-in damper or with pressure / open fittings.
Sometimes two drawers bump into each other because one front is mounted about 1.5 cm too high. The brackets that ensure that you can click the front onto the drawer, must be mounted differently on the bottom drawer than the drawers above it. The front of the bottom drawer must fall over the bottom of the cabinet.
The instructions for removing the drawer can be found in the assembly instructions. Are you no longer in possession of the assembly instructions for your kitchen drawer? To remove the drawer from your kitchen cabinet, you must first determine what type of kitchen you have.
METOD kitchen
Do you have a METOD kitchen? Then slide the tray out completely. Then hold the bottom of the tray with both hands at the front and lift the tray. The drawer will now separate from the rails.
FAKTUM kitchen
Do you have a FAKTUM kitchen? Then there are two versions of the kitchen drawer. To find out which versions you have, slide out the drawer and look at the bottom. Do you see a white latch protruding through the drawer runner on the bottom of the drawer runners (about 5 cm from the front of the drawer)? Then you have version 1. Is there no lock protruding through the drawer runner? Then you have version 2.
- Version 1
Press in the white latch with a screwdriver. Do the same with the other drawer slide. The drawer will now separate from the drawer runners. - Version 2
Pull the drawer out completely and firmly pull it away from the drawer guides. When holding the drawer, be careful not to clamp the drawer slides.
Open the drawer. You see an elongated plastic plate on both sides of the drawer. Remove the covers. You will find several screws in the space behind the cover plate.
Most screws are adjustment screws with which you can adjust the drawer front. You can turn one of these screws half a turn with a screwdriver. The drawer front will then separate from the drawer. Important: the screw may be a bit clogged.
Open the drawer. At the bottom you will find a corner bracket behind the drawer front. Unscrew these. Next, loosen the screws on the sides of the drawer brackets. Now you can disconnect the top brackets from the drawer runners. You can then carefully lift the drawer out of the mounting brackets of the drawer front.
For more information, see the assembly instructions for your drawer. Do you no longer have these in your possession? Please contact our customer service.
