How do I install appliances in my METOD kitchen?
If you have questions while installing appliances, or want to know which parts you need, you can find your answers here.
Follow the steps in the installation manual. If you need additional items, it will be indicated in the manual.
- UTRUSTA bracket for oven
In the assembly instructions for your oven or (combi) microwave you will sometimes see a thin panel depicted under the device. The panel shown is the UTRUSTA bracket for oven; this is for sale separately. You only need this item if you mount an oven in a METOD base cabinet frame.
In other situations a UTRUSTA fixed ventilated shelf is sufficient. This shelf is supplied as standard with a METOD high cabinet for refrigerator or oven. Both UTRUSTA items are designed to support the weight of an oven. - Ventilation
All ovens and (combi) microwave ovens from IKEA that are built into a cabinet have ventilation at the front of the appliance. This means that ventilation at the rear is not necessary. Follow the supplied installation instructions to ensure adequate ventilation of the device. - Filling of open space above or below the device
Do you have an open space left in the cupboard after placing your oven or (combi) microwave? If the space is about 4 cm, fill it with a finishing strip that is included with the device in the packaging. Is the room bigger? Then use a drawer front, cut it to the right size to fill the gap and use the FÖRBÄTTRA Cover strip and fittings to cover the cut.
To install your own dishwasher in an IKEA kitchen, you may need additional parts. In any case, the dishwasher must be suitable for installation with a kitchen front 80 cm high.
The METOD kitchen system and our IKEA dishwashers are perfectly matched, so installation is as easy as possible. This does mean that not all other dishwashers are suitable for an IKEA kitchen.
Is your dishwasher at least suitable for installation with an 80 cm high kitchen front? Then installation is often possible, but you will need additional parts. Get advice from the manufacturer or seller of your own dishwasher on how to get it ready for use in an IKEA kitchen.
