Product details

Ample storage space is hidden neatly under the bed in 3 large drawers. Perfect for storing duvets, pillows and bed linen.

Soft-closing drawers run smoothly, slowly and silently.

Storage in the headboard saves space and makes it easier to access boxes or drawers under the bed; and it’s easier to vacuum too.

The soft felt pad absorbs sound, protects from scratches and keeps small items in place.

You can choose where to position the box and shelf since they easily slot into the headboard’s grooves.

You can hide cables for lamps and chargers by feeding them through the holes at the back of the shelf.

You decide the height of the headboard since it attaches to the wall.

NORDLI headboard is assembled and mounted on the wall in just a few steps.

Great bed for my teenage sonVerified ReviewerGreat bed for my teenage son.5
Daughter loves this bed! I say it could be better.Verified ReviewerPurchased this bed for my teenage daughter. She has a tiny bedroom where she has this single bed and sliding wardrobe and that is all that can fit in her room. So having draw storage is excellent, they’re also quite roomy draws which is an added bonus. This bed is brilliant for her size room, I did suggest IKEA make beds for smaller rooms and they listened. 2 complaints with this design; My daughter has hit her head a few times on the lower shelf as it is too close to the mattress. Lastly, the mattress keeps moving as the strips do not hold the mattress in place, this has left our very expensive mattress frayed. For the price of this bed I suggest IKEA address the design issues of the cheap strips and the shelf as this is my daughter’s only complaint. An extra row on the headboard would have been ideal.4
Poor design flawVerified ReviewerWe purchased this for our teenager, although it looks great in her room and good for storage this bed is certainly not worth the £400 price tag! It’s destroyed 2 mattresses due to the 6 Velcro strips that’s supposed to keep the mattress in place which sits on top of the base not inside the frame. I called ikea and they sent more strips which I added and replaced the old mattress with a new one which my daughter said it didn’t seem to move as much. However, it’s just over a year and the same thing has happened again with fraying and holes beginning to appear in the new mattress. I can’t believe ikea sells a bed like this with such a bad design flaw. I definitely would not recommend this bed.2

All in one but slipperyVerified ReviewerEnormous piece of furniture for the price. It is all in one. The board looks modern and tidy. The little bedside it is big enough to have a alarm clock or a radio and you can have also some books. The top one allows you to storage more small items, like a water bottle. The drawers are big and can be installed bilateral. The only but it is that the mattress, despite some strips included in the kit, it will move from the base.4
Perfect bedVerified ReviewerMy daughter loves this bed, would definitely recommend it to others5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
