It takes a while to put together, not the easiest of constructions but clear instructions help. It rises up and down very easily even with a heavy mattress on top and, in spite of the mechanism and obvious opportunities for this to squeak or make annoying noises, it doesn’t and there’s no issue for sleeping. 5

They are now in the the relatively dust free compartment under the mattress. The frame is well made and while it took a while to assemble the lift function is well counterweighted so not too much of an effort to raise. Should have bought this years ago5

Defective bed frameAnonymous reviewerWe purchased this bed and have loved having the storage however when lifting the bed recently we have noticed the bracket that the mattress sits on at the bottom of the bed is coming away from the wooden frame quite badly. We have look after this bed and have never used it in any way to effect this, we are both normal weight and only use it to sleep on. Considering this bed isn’t cheap we are very disappointed and I do not believe an issue like this should happen.2

Sturdy and PracticalAnonymous reviewerWe bought this bed about 6 months, it's very well done, and doesn't do any squeaks during night movement. We found the assembly a bit complicated at a point and would recommend searching for a YouTube video to help you like we did.5
Not a true King Size bed (as advertised)Anonymous reviewerA British King size bed is 5ft wide and 6ft 6 inches long. The aperture of the bed is less than 5ft by about 1/2 inch so you have to force the mattress edges into place, distorting the mattress. Every time time you open the ottoman this problem reoccurs. Why don't Ikea understand the concept of imperial measurements.
Other points are the slats are very springy and the headboard is made in two parts so the top half flexes when you lean back on it. The rest is very good, such as shame this product is spoilt in particular by not being the correct size for a standard King Size mattress. Note refunds are only available as E-vouchers!1
