How does IKEA's buyback and resale service work?
Start by using the “Buy Back Estimator Tool” to check how much you could receive for your IKEA products. Take your products to the selected IKEA store within 15 calendar days of receiving your quote. In store, the condition of your products will be assessed, and a final price will be offered. You will receive an IKEA refund/gift card that can be used in store, online, or with the Remote Sales Team.
Decide what you would like to resell. Find out which products you can sell back to us in the List of Eligible Items. For each price estimate you receive, you can sell up to 10 items.
Keep an eye on your inbox. We will send you an email almost immediately with your estimated quote and a reference number to reserve your transaction.
Take your products (fully assembled) together with your estimate reference number to the selected IKEA store within 15 days of receiving your quote.
At the store’s Customer Service area, the condition of your products will be assessed and a final price will be offered. Products must meet the following requirements:
- Be in good condition and suitable for resale.
- Be listed as eligible items.
- Be complete and fully functional.
- Be correctly assembled when returned. This helps us ensure that all parts are present and that the item is in good condition during the final in-store assessment.
- Be clean and unmodified. Gently clean the item to remove dust, dirt and stains. A clean product helps us assess its condition more easily.
- Have the original IKEA label attached.
You will receive an IKEA refund/gift card for the agreed amount, which you can spend on something you need or like, online, in store or through the Remote Sales Team. You can use your IKEA refund/gift card for an unlimited period from the date of issue, as it has no expiry date. However, it cannot be used in our bistros, restaurants or Swedish Food Markets (IKEA Food).
All products in good condition will be resold in the store’s opportunities section or through our Online Second-hand Store.
