Returns

On this page, you will find all the information on how to carry out a return at IKEA. Sometimes what seemed perfect for your home, office or garden, just isn't. Don't worry, we have the solution!

Which products can be returned?

Product returns

We know that our products are loved, but you don't always get it right first time. With this in mind, we give you 365 days to return your products, provided that they are in their original condition and packaging.

IKEA products that can't be returned

  • Customised products.  ​
  • Products bought from the Circular Hub.​
  • Gift cards.  
  • ​Services performed.
  • ​Fresh food products.
  • ​Dry food products with an expiry date before or on the date on which the return is processed and/or when the integrity of the packaging and/or product has not been maintained.
  • ​Live plants.
  • ​You can test out our mattresses for 7 days, but for return purposes they shouldn't show signs of wear and tear, stains and/or uncleanliness.
  • ​Items that are part of joint promotions and combinations will not be accepted individually (that is, only one of the products in the set). The complete set or combination will need to be returned.​

Mattress returns

IKEA believes that your new mattress should be comfortable and to your liking. With IKEA, you have 7 days to decide whether you're satisfied with your choice.

Once opened, in order to exchange your mattress you simply need to bring it, along with your receipt, to the IKEA store of your choice. We will then refund you to a refund card. If you need to arrange a collection, contact us.

What's more, we will always be ready to help you choose another one. 

*Dirty, stained or damaged mattresses are excluded from our IKEA return policy; always use a mattress protector to prolong the mattress's lifespan and keep it protected. 


Where can I return the product?

You can carry out your return at any IKEA store that accepts returns or alternatively request a home collection. 

IKEA stores and spaces

You can return the product to any IKEA store, except IKEA Leganés and IKEA Torrejón, where you may only return products purchased in that same store. You can find information about which store or collection point accepts returns with our store locator.

It is not possible to make returns at:

  • IKEA city stores: IKEA Goya, IKEA La Vaguada and IKEA Fuencarral in Madrid, and IKEA Diagonal and IKEA Glòries in Barcelona.
  • IKEA planning spaces: our planning spaces are intended solely for creating designs, orders and quotes.
  • IKEA collection points and collection points operated by our external partners: it is currently not possible to make returns here, although some IKEA collection points exceptionally offer a returns service for orders collected at that same collection point.

From home

Arrange a product collection by phone by calling +34 900 400 922. We will send a carrier to collect your order from the address of your choice. *The cost of collection is EUR 39

How to return an item by home collection:

  1. Contact us to arrange a return at Contact us – IKEA.
  2. Prepare your products. Keep in mind that the items must be in their original condition: with unopened packaging, still in the box, cover or wrapping, and unassembled (they must be unused, in perfect condition, and everything must be present).
    1. For mattresses, to ensure the return is carried out correctly, the mattress to be collected must be packaged beforehand (the material does not matter, as long as it is completely covered).
  3. Give the package to the carrier.
  4. The carrier we send to your home must check that the box has not been opened or tampered with and that the original packaging is in perfect condition without any damage (breakage, tears, dirt, damp or stains, etc.)  ​​
  5. If the return appointment couldn't take place due to reasons attributable to the customer, the EUR 39 will not be refunded and you must arrange the service with its associated costs again.
  6. The amount paid will be refunded by bank transfer.

*Applicable solely within the Spanish peninsula.

Via Correos

If you can't get to an IKEA store, you can always return small items at Correos branches. The terms and conditions for making a return via Correos are:

  1. All the products you want to return must be part of the same order or on the same receipt.
  2. The total weight of the package cannot exceed 25 kg
  3. The packaging of each returned package must not exceed the maximum dimensions (78.5 cm x 55 cm x 39 cm)
  4. The cost of the service is EUR 1

How can I make a return by Correos?

  1. Prepare the product.
  2. Fill in the online form (one for each receipt, as the return is processed according to the original method of payment).
  3. You will receive a confirmation email with a postage label and QR code. It is not necessary to print the label
  4. Take the package to a Correos branch to complete the return. You can use this returns method regardless of how you bought your products (online, in-store or remotely) or the delivery method (with or without home delivery).

 


Cancel an order 

You can cancel any orders that have not yet been dispatched through the Track my order page. If you are unable to cancel, please contact our customer service team. 


Right of withdrawal for online purchases

If you bought your products online or over the phone, by law you have 14 calendar days from delivery to withdraw from the agreement, without needing to state why and without incurring a penalty.

  • You can open and assemble the product to check its appearance.
  • If you use the product more than is necessary to check it, we have the right to charge you an amount proportional to its loss in value, but never to refuse a return within that 14-day period.
  • The refund will be paid to you using the same payment method as was used to buy the product, within 14 days from receipt of the product or proof of postage.
