BILLY bookshelf, 1979
Designer: Ola Wihlborg
It was born in 1979 from a simple sketch on a napkin. Today there are so many BILLYs in the world that it is estimated that there is approximately 1 for every 100 people. With its many colors and combinations to choose from, it has found its place in households around the globe.
FROSET armchair, 2020
Designers: Sarah Fager and Henrik Preutz
The wide, curved seat, rounded back and the angle between the two make its geometric design full of comfort. Thanks to the curved wood in different thicknesses, FRÖSET achieves a light yet sturdy silhouette, updating a classic Scandinavian design technique.
JÄRPEN armchair, 1956
(Now SKALBODA)
Designer: Niels Gammelgaard
In the early 1980s, our founder Ingvar Kamprad asked Danish designer Niels Gammelgaard to create the world's most economical, industrially manufactured armchair without fabric or padding. Thus JÄRPEN, today known as SKALBODA, was born.
IKEA PS 2002 watering can, 2002
Designer: Monika Mulder
The IKEA PS VÅLLÖ watering can was part of a collection intended for both outdoor and indoor use. Its organic FORMA, inspired by moving water, allows several units to be stacked to save space and transport, and was awarded the Excellent Swedish Design award in 2002.
