How does the IKEA kitchen measuring service work?

Get some inspiration first and make sure that the room is ready and safe to work in, and make an estimated planning of what you want in your kitchen. Then you can book a kitchen planning appointment in an IKEA store or online. In this planning appointment, you can then request the measuring service. You will get some more details to prepare before the technician comes to your place. After that, you receive the measurements and you can start planning in detail. In any case, you should have your plan checked by a kitchen specialist before the purchase.

1. Before the measurement appointment
If you haven't already, get some inspiration about our kitchen possibilities on our website and in the wished kitchen planner.
The measuring service is only possible in combination with kitchen planning done by an IKEA kitchen specialist.
When you have enough knowledge about what you want (kitchen type, main measures of the room, budget), book a kitchen planning appointment with one of our specialists – in store or online.
2. During the measurement appointment
Plan enough time for the visit. It might take up to two hours, depending on the complexity of your kitchen.
The technician will take photos and collect all necessary details including room dimensions, locations of windows and doors, obstacles and all utility connections.
Please be available to point out any hidden feature and answer any question the technician might have.
3. After the measurement appointment
The precise kitchen measurements are then sent directly to your kitchen planner who will make the changes on your plan and send them to you with an offer.
