A minimalist’s dream
With timeless design and clean lines, the sleek SLATTUM bedframe is designed to be minimalist in almost every way, even when it comes to the price. It also has a softer, secretly maximalist side, in the form of a nicely padded headboard, a generous 140 cm of sleeping space and tall legs for plenty of storage space underneath.

We’ve got bed frames for you, your loved ones or your guests – for good nights and easy mornings. At IKEA, you’ll find a wide range of beds for every taste and budget. Classic wooden beds bring natural warmth to the bedroom. Modern metal beds add crisp definition. Divan beds offer comfort with a luxury-hotel feel. And practical daybeds can go from sofa to sleeping space in no time. Our beds combine quality materials, thoughtful design and affordable prices. And here’s a practical bonus: you can buy your bed as a set with a mattress and a slatted bed base. That saves time and helps make sure everything fits together.
Key features and benefits of our beds at a glance (depending on the model):

Which bed size should I choose?
The right bed size depends on your space and how you sleep. Single beds (90 cm wide) are a great choice for a guest room or a smaller bedroom. For couples, a double bed from 140 cm wide is a good place to start. If you like more space, go for 160 or 180 cm wide.
Which bed suits me and my bedroom?
The main thing is what you like and what fits your room. Upholstered beds and divan beds feel cosy thanks to their fabric covers. Wooden beds and metal beds can take on different looks, from traditional to Scandinavian, and with the right textiles and accessories even something more playful. If you’re short on space, take a look at our daybeds, which work as a sofa by day and a proper bed by night. Bed frames with built-in storage use the space under the mattress for bed linen, pillows or seasonal clothes, so you gain storage without using extra floor space. To match your choice, you’ll also find bedroom furniture like bedside tables and chests of drawers, plus desks and wardrobes in styles that work beautifully with your new bed.
What’s the difference between a divan bed and a platform bed?
A divan bed has three layers: a sprung base, a mattress and a topper. This combination gives you a comfortable feel and a handy height for getting in and out of bed. The sprung base adds extra support and cushioning. A platform bed, by contrast, has a fixed frame with a slatted bed base. It often looks simpler and more modern, supports the mattress evenly and allows good ventilation. Platform beds are also often lower, which suits minimalist styles.
Where can I buy a bed frame for a modern interior style?
You’ll find plenty of beds in modern designs here. Clean lines, clear shapes and neutral colours define many of our modern bed frames. Black or white metal frames feel urban and current. Light-toned wooden beds bring Scandinavian lightness to the bedroom. And upholstered and box spring beds in beige or grey can feel modern and cosy at the same time.
How do I care for a wooden bed frame?
Wooden bed frames are easy to care for and long-lasting. Wipe the frame regularly with a slightly damp cloth, and avoid too much water so the wood doesn’t swell. For painted surfaces, a soft, dry cloth is usually enough. It’s also best not to place a wooden bed too close to a radiator, as very dry heat can damage the wood. Air your bedroom regularly. It’s good for the bed frame, and for your sleep too.
Are there adjustable bed frames?
Yes. You’ll find different bed solutions that can adapt to your needs. Adjustable slatted bed bases, for example, let you raise the head and foot sections, which is handy for reading, watching TV or for comfort reasons. Some beds can also be extended in length. Our extendable beds are especially practical for children and teenagers, so the bed can grow with them.
Are there bed frames that are easy to assemble?
All IKEA beds are designed for straightforward assembly. Clear, illustrated instructions guide you step by step, and many bed frames can be put together with just a few tools. Many designs also use clever connecting systems where screws and fittings slot together precisely for stability, making assembly simpler. Once it’s built, the bed should stay stable, without wobbling or creaking.
