SKAFTET floor lamp base provides overhead lighting – with no ceiling outlet. You can slide the lamp base under a sofa to save floor space and combine it with any lamp shade to create a personal lamp.

Lampshade is sold separately.

Use an opal light bulb if you have an ordinary lamp shade or lamp and want an even, diffused distribution of light.

Use a clear light bulb if you have a lamp shade or lamp with a perforated or cut-out pattern or other airy, open design and want the pattern to cast effects on the wall and ceiling.

The lamp base should not be used with a glass lampshade since it is too heavy and can cause the lamp base to tip.

Special waste handling may be required. Please contact your local authorities for more information.

Frame too weakAdrianShould have read the other reviews before buying. The arm is too weak and sags about 15cm once it has an (IKEA) lampshade on it and also bounces a lot at any small touch. Provided nuts are not strong enough to hold the arm securely (I even stripped one trying to tighten it more so the arm would stop moving). Would not have bought if I knew this.1
Poor construction! Not recommended at all. RuchindraThis product is very poorly constructed. Like all the other negative reviewers say, the lamp sags over time and will eventually give where the Rob connects to the base. I very carefully dismantled the lamp for a house move and was never able to put together in its intended way again. I even took the lamp back to IKEA for help only to be told there is nothing they could do. I finally purchase a very strong glue and glued the bottom rod to the base, but the top still sags. Very disappointed. 1

Great lightHannahI love the big long arch, and paired with one of the interesting globes, it gives a great soft light. The screws are a little hard to get in, and ours appears to be a little skewiff at the globe end, but still looks good!5
Very difficult to assemble and not very sturdyAdrianI love most IKEA products but I wasn't too impressed with this lamp: it was incredibly fidgety to put together (teeny tiny screws that lost their thread from trying to screw them in), it swayed a lot after I assembled it, and I didn't know until after I bought it that the switch to turn the lamp on is right at the very top of the arc. Being a short woman, I can't turn it on or off without standing on something which is not very practical!2

Way bigger than you think it isStephanieImages make this look taller than it is wide but that is definitely not the case. This lamp goes across half of the room. Positioning the base to get the shade in the right spot is difficult as it stretches out so far. If it was a little taller instead of wide, it would have been perfect. Sturdy and heavy, looks nice, but just don’t expect it to fit nicely beside an armchair or couch unless you have a lot of room around it.3
