Unhygienic and SmellsEssenSmells quite bad so took off the cover to wash it. Found a dead insect inside the mattress very disgusting. Not what you would expect on a nursery product and $249. The smell is coming from the mattress itself and not the cover which is even worse as you cannot wash it.2
Chemical smell remains after 3 monthsMollyWe bought this as it’s advertised as natural and has a lot less toxic materials than other mattresses. However, we’ve been using it for almost 3 months and it’s still off-gassing a very strong chemical smell. Our baby’s hair smells of it strongly in the mornings when she wakes up. I aired this mattress out for 7 days before using it, and have since regularly aired it. We have even washed the cover a few times. The fumes are still persistent!1

It has since then retained its shape and unlike some of the other reviews below, we haven’t had any issue with any “odour “. It smells just as a normal mattress would lol . The mattress is easy to keep waterproof with the added mattress protector you can buy separately , which has been a dream on days where bubs has spilled her water bottle. All in all , super happy with this mattress, and it fits perfectly with our Ikea Mylar pink cot and cute ikea cot sheets . Would definitely recommend this cot mattress. Great price point and quality. Bubs would give it 5 stars for sure, she has sound sleeps on it , and loves looking at the funky ikea cot sheets (especially ones with animal print). All in all, very happy all round . 5

can't stand the smellHelenWe bought this mattress when bub was 5 months old. We didn't use it right away because there is very bad smell. All cot beddings and sleepbag etc have got the smell. We have aired the mattress, washed the cover and sheets, but now after 4 months the smell is still there. I don't know if I could use it to put my baby on....1

Bumpy mattressAnonymous reviewerI bought this for my newborn and it was good at first but after a few months of use, the mattress now has some bumps and isn't flat anymore which I can imagine isn't good for a baby. We bought the most expensive mattress thinking it would be better but it's not :( I like that you can wash the cover easily.2
Thick, comfy, great sleepJamieI bought this while setting up my nursery and still using at 6 months old, no issues, staying nicely firm. Fits the IKEA cot nice and snug so I know it is safe sleep compatible. I feel safe placing my baby boy to sleep on this mattress. It's holding up really well too and he is one healthy bub at almost 9kg already!!4
Do not purchaseAnonymousFrom the very first use my 6 month old has left an indentation in the mattress. My daughter now arches her back a lot. Will be replacing ASAP. Not really value for money if you have to replace it after a month.1
