Solid Chair for a Good PriceJohnWe bought this chair because we have six people in our family and our kitchen table only had five chairs. We have had an IVAR chair before and knew it was a solid option. It’s sturdy, stable, and easy to assemble. We left ours unfinished.

Slightly different than shownChelseyI have gotten chairs before from ikea and I’m always happy. This time however, the middle piece of wood was given a space much higher that normal. This made the chair look different than the picture; and therefore, different from my other chairs that I have previously purchased from ikea. Still very easy to assemble and sturdy.
Side bar on left snappedKevinChair itself seems fine. Mine arrived with some wood patterning discolouration – the back parts are far darker than the rest of the chair. Then some months into ownership the left bottom horizontal snapped.
Looks good MaryI picked up two of these to go with my PINNTORP table. The chairs are easy to assemble, affordable, solid pine and look great with the table. I like you can easily alter them to fit different styles or keep them as is. I would recommend a cushion since it’s a little hard to sit on for a long period of time but that’s just my personal preference. And the cushion adds a nice pop of color. One con I would bring up is it is shorter than usual chairs. It’s perfect for me since I’m 5”2 and usually have a hit or miss on chairs.

Best chair everSandraBest chair ever. I had table 4 chairs 20 years ago. For many reasons one chair survived because we used it as chair at our computer. Decided I needed table and chair so I bought a table decided while in Ikea why not just buy another chair. Now I once again have 2 ivar chairs I am saving for the table have to save to get the table I’m on fixed income but this is best chair. my husband weighed 220 never had to tighten screws. Never painted it. Just used it. Buy it it’s wonderful. It’s wood don’t overtighten wood splits. Thank you Ikea

The IVAR chair could easily be stained or painted to match. The chairs are very well made and are a perfect addition to our decor. The price was perfect, too.
