Product details
With this daybed you quickly and easily create space for overnight guests. Just pull out the bed base and you get a double bed in no time.
With some soft, fluffy pillows as back support, you easily transform this day-bed into a comfortable sofa.
The large drawers have space for extra duvets, pillows, linens or other things you need to store, but want to have close at hand.
The high frame creates a cozy cocoon feeling, and is lacquered so that it's easy to maintain.
Good to know
Choose foam or latex mattresses if you plan to use the daybed as a double bed.
Mattress and bedlinens are sold separately.

The daybed must be combined with two twin mattresses. They are placed on top of each other when you use the daybed as a single bed, and next to each other when you use it as a double bed.
The daybed is not to be used as two single beds; it should only be used as a double bed when the bed base is pulled out.

Absolute nightmare to buildStephanieThe directions are terrible, everything is packed in the most confusing way - pieces for step 1 in box 4, screws packed in a non-logical way, it's like they are just setting you up for failure. The screws for the knobs are impossible, they don't go into the knobs all the way. After all that, the bottom part doesn't slide out very well, but I'm not about to take this thing apart. I would definitely not recommend it as a regularly used bed, ours will only be used very occasionally for guests, so I'm less concerned about the bottom breaking. At the very least, save yourself the headache and get a task rabbit to put it together.

Good solid daybedTeresaBed is great, not too hard to put together. We were told that we could use a twin mattress on it instead of the IKEA so I bought two and they didn’t fit. It would be perfect if that worked.

Before you consider buying this furniture, go read the 1/2-star reviews first! How come we all faced the same problem? If so, the design is a total failure. If I ever met the designer, I will ask the designer read all the negative reviews and please give us an explanation!
The bed broke.MariaI purchased this HEMNES daybed in December, and I’m very disappointed with its durability. After only a few months of normal use, the rear wooden support where the caster wheels attach broke. I expected much better quality from IKEA, especially for a piece of furniture that’s meant to be used every day.
The bed looks nice, but a structural part should not fail this quickly. I’m hoping IKEA will stand behind the product and provide a replacement part or another appropriate solution. Until then, I can’t recommend this bed based on my experience.

UncomfortableJaydenI initially bought this bedframe almost one week ago, as I was in desperate need of a replacement for my very old one. I was hoping that, despite the stressful assembly and how time-consuming it was, it would be well worth it. It turned out that I was more disappointed than happy with the final result.
Although I was of course planning to use this as a bed, what also enticed me to buy it was how it acts as a sofa. However, during times when I'd use it for just that, it would be uncomfortable to even sit against, despite using a thick pillow, and that's mainly due to the design of the frame itself. Each wall that surrounds the frame has a top edge that sticks out and makes it feel difficult to relax against for me. Although the material is nice and good for what it is, I can't help but feel unhappy with it. Will be looking to see if I can return it if possible at all.
Daybed, fighter of the NightbedJustinGreat bed overall, but I really wished I knew about the weight limit before buying. When it's in the sofa position, the limit is only 220 lbs, which is pretty low if you plan on having multiple adults sit on it. Aside from that restriction, it's a solid, functional piece of furniture

Perfect for teenVerneneWe bought this as part of a room makeover for our teen girl. Great, cozy spot for her to sleep and hangout. With me, my husband, and daughter, it took a little less than 4 hours to put together.
I call it my crochet couch! LOLNikiSo I like to crochet and I was in need of something where I could have lots of pillows, be cozy and be comfortable for when I fall asleep. The loveseat I had was not good enough as it was too short. Got rid of it and built this daybed in it's place. Since it's intended for only me, I don't plan on pulling it out to use the double bed feature. As for the slats, they seem pretty sturdy.....similar to that of a 2"x4". I LOVE the size of the drawers. I was able to load up a lot of my yarn in each one, so no more yarn messes on the floor! Haha I purchased a plush 8", non ikea mattress and it fit perfectly in the space. The ONLY downside for me is that when natural light hits it, you can see more of a brown undertone and it doesn't match the other black/brown Ikea items I purchased too well. Aside from that, I have ZERO issues with my new crochet couch! >_< It's perfect for what I wanted!! :D
Broken wooden slats; replacement unavailableKimberleyWhen the bed was pulled out into a double bed the wooden slats broke. They snapped right in half (2) while I was attempting to make the bed. The customer service rep implied that I was standing on bed. This was further frustrating insulting because I would never stand on a bed to make it. Don't buy this bed, not worth it. I tried to obtain replacement parts but they do not provide these for replacement. I also asked to return the bed but am not getting a reply after being told that someone would reach out to me in 48 - 72 hours.

Sturdy and durableIsabelWe bought this bed 4 years ago and is still as good as day 1. Haven’t used the tandem feature much. We bought a non-ikea mattress. Two adults and 2 kids sit on it at night to read. Well made bed and would recommend.

Nice design but very smellyXiaoyunWe go this bed aobut 3 months ago. It was very smelly. It takes about 3 months to let the odor go away. At first we put it in the bedroom. Because of the small, we put the 3 drawers in the garage, and the daybed in the office, so we can keep the window open all day long.
