SturdyJudyGood sturdy bed does the job looking clean and tidy. It was a bit of work putting together and well worth it. It is low to the floor.5
Tarva bedArturoThe bed is pretty simple to assemble if you know how to use a screwdriver and a hammer but once you get it together the bed is pretty strong and will hold together if tighten correctly, pretty solid for a cheap buck4
It Snapped in Half and Almost Killed My CatM212780I bought this bedframe in September and it was perfectly acceptable until tonight when it the support beans and headboard snapped in half causing the metal support bar to slam into our floor directly where our cats sleep at night. If it had happened two hours later I can’t imagine what would have happened. Do not under any circumstances use this product, it lacks structural integrity.1
extra part needed not listed on website :(ET70Bed looks great - shame I can't use it yet. There's a center support beam that you need, that wasn't listed on the list of parts needed when I bought it. With Covid-19 the line is extremely long so I'm on a mattress on the floor right now!3
Bed frame splits & collapsed !Charlene5Bought this bed frame last year October, I like the simple design of the bed though it was a pain to put together . Then last week in the middle of the night while I was asleep, the bed frame collapsed. Cracked completely in half at the end of the bed frame! I wish I can post a photo of the bed to show how bad it was! It's not even a year. Thank goodness I wasn't hurt. For your safety, please DO NOT BUY IT!1
JUST A HINTEUROPEAN HANDYMANWe bought the bed yesterday and everything went well.I just wanted to point out that in step 7 of putting the bed together ,you have to hammer some metal guides into the wood and it tells you that they have to stick out a minimum of 20 mm.20 mm equals roughly 3/4 of an inch.Just a hint if someone does not have a metric tape measure.5
Lasted 6year +JessimacaBought this bed 6 years ago and it made it through 3 moves! A great starter bed, but I just bought a new bed from another company and its a world of difference.4
Bed broke in the middle of the night after 1 monthceren123I bought this bed in november and started using it a month ago and it broke while I was sleeping. planks couldnt keep on the metal center support and the metal support fell off completely and the metal rods attached got bended. so the bed is beyond saving. I was the only person using the bed and I’m on the lighter side. And I seriously couldn’t be more gentle. This is the first time I’m having a problem this big with an Ikea bed and I’m so disappointed. I’ve been sleeping with my mattress on the floor since then.1
BED BROKE, Center Supports Inadequatecustomer10001The center supports are unreliable and do not provide any support whatsoever. I keep finding all the center supports shifting to the side despite very gentle use of the bed frame. The supporting planks shift around often as well, and sometimes fall to the ground (and completely not providing any support). I've only had it for less than a year, and THE CENTER PLANK CRACKED IN HALF because of this, which could have resulted in some very SERIOUS INJURIES for a sleeping person. I am incredibly disappointed that such a product could be sold on IKEA and that I have to fix this in the middle of a pandemic.1
So far, so good!mommayoginiWe bought these for our two teenage daughters. They are clean and modern looking and seem pretty sturdy for the price. The girls are very happy with them.5
Perfect bed frameTwice perfectThis is the SECOND one I've bought and fine them easily put together; structurally sound and looks perfect in the bedrooms.5
Screw 117327 needs a Pozidriv head (not a Philips)6661MonicaIn order to secure the metal cross beams in place you need a Pozidriv #2 screwdriver. There is no other way to get this self threading screw into an unthreaded metal piece. Or purchase A flat or small roundhead screw1
Good for cheap fixJaz1341I bought this bed when I first moved out and it isn’t exactly what I expected. I generally love IKEA furniture but this bed is so flimsy that it has come loose and collapsed. It’s good for temporary use but no long term2
Easy to assembleSnowHippoWe were looking for a simple bed that would be easy to move and assemble. This had decent reviews and with a 365 return policy we decided to try it out. I assembled it mostly alone, only having my daughter help me with a few pieces that required two people. The instructions were easy to follow and we had it together in less than an hour.4
BeautifulMsEliseIt is the perfect color and compliment to the guest bedroom5
NahhhhhhhhhI bought this a year ago and while it was a pain to put together because all of the screw holes weren't in the piece that goes at the foot of the bed, I loved it. I stained it and finished it myself and it matched with everything in my room perfectly. Then last night, in the middle of the night while I was asleep, the bed broke. I woke up to it cracking right in the middle of one of the boards around the bed, cracking the whole headboard all the way through. This bed does not have a weight limit that I have seen, so I wouldn't recommend buying it if you'll have more than one person sleeping on it. Get something sturdier.2
Bed frame split in the middle of the nightSusanWBAll was well with our Tarva until it wasn't. The 2 main pieces of wood at the base of the headboard split completely (end to end) when we were sleeping. Loud crack and bam down it went!1
wanda kbought a few months ago. Doing well5
Perfect for Minimalist!Liz VThis bed is perfect for someone living a minimalist clean lifestyle. Can’t go wrong with the price either! Setup was a breeze!5
Karma KI've been using the Tarva (Full) for about 2 months now and I am happy with my purchase. Initially, I was a little skeptical about my purchase because of the other reviews claiming the product breaks. So far this is not my experience, but I can understand where some people may have gone wrong. First, be aware that the product doesn't come in just one box. You need to get 3 different packages, The Tarva (The frame itself), the Luroy (Slats), and the Skorva (Center Support Beam). If you go to the store in person there are bright yellow signs or you can look it up on the website under Package Details. It lists each item number and location. If you are American you might be used to a box spring or a heavy mattress. IKEA beds are European style, so essentially you do not need a box frame because the slats are the box frame. The weight of your mattress is something to consider. So I recommend picking up an IKEA mattress as well if your current one is extra thick / heavy. We purchased the HAUGESUND Medium firm, which works great with this frame. It is significantly lighter than our old mattress. My SO had no issues putting this together. He does have experience putting things together but he is not a professional. It took about 2 to 3 hours to put it together. (He was taking his time.) Some of the reviews say that not all of the pieces work, but this was not our experience. You really have to read the directions, especially when it comes to the small diagonal metal support beams. By the way, the diagonal beams are not meant to be the only support. The center support beam is mandatory. A note about the slats. The Tarva comes with a stopper to lock the slats in place but in my experience they did shift slightly in the middle. It's not really a problem but it can be a little squeaky. A good cheap solution to this is to take Velcro tape and place it along the end of each slat. We did this on the both ends of the slat, along the center support beam and the outsides. (I used Velcro Brand Industrial Strength Fasteners) After we did that, the bed is quieter. So far we have not experienced any sagging or breaking. I will update this review if anything changes.5
