I also don’t like the new self check out and buy and pick up. I want to take it off the shelf and buy it not buy it and wait 20 minutes to pick it up.3

Real Wood Product at a Fraction of the Price!!KimI had purchased a slightly used set of Hemnes furniture back in the early 2000's. It has made a move to Hawaii and back (taken apart & back together) and I am still using it today!! I wanted to change my MBR suit so I went directly to IKEA and found just the perfect set!! Unfortunately it was after a terrible experience with Rooms to Go and their not real wood product with unacceptable flaws in the manufacturing. Also got the same piece set for a fraction of the price!! Learned my lesson Never Again!!5

Not greatBenWe had the previous version of this dresser for 10 years. We finally had to get a new one. This new version has major problems that were not known until after I put the whole thing together. 1) The safety features only allow one drawer to be open at a time and the mechanism that does so is not reliable and sticks all the time. 2) Another safety feature is that the drawers don't pull out nearly as far as the first version. This makes each drawer only 2/3 usable because you cant reach into the back. Overall I am very disappointed with this dresser and would not recommend. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it now and I am stuck with it.2
Board Missing MelodyWe paid 39 dollars to have this shipped to us. Took two weeks and an hour into assembly we became aware of the missing board. The dresser is solid and heavy we love most IKEA products however our experience with this purchase has changed our overall outlook. I called and when I finally reached customer service (40 minute hold) rep was very kind however nothing could be done but send us the board (another up to 2 week wait) There was no offer of a discount or any compensation for our trouble. This was purchased for in-laws coming to town in a few days so an inconvenience for sure. We would have appreciated some compensation. 2
Nice look, but damaged EricaI love the look of this dresser but I’m currently awaiting my 3rd top for it as the initial one was delivered damaged and the replacement piece was delivered more damaged than the first. Customer service has been helpful, but I just want to be able to use the dresser!2

Bubble in Top Peeled Off!MarieI would give this a 5-Star rating except the top had a big bubble in it and started to peel off, leaving this big hole in the finish. Is a replacement top available? Right now I hide it with a table runner, but it just bothers me that the top is defective for such an expensive piece!3
Good QualityAshleighI purchased two of these for a girls bedroom. They were bigger than I imagined. The overall quality is nice and I like how it is mostly made of real wood. Assembly was a little challenging. I wish the instructions were clearer. We used some wood glue to help secure the screws. 5
Lots of warped and damaged wood!RobertBought a 3-drawer Hemnes in January 2024; the top was warped and then I found that the dresser was discontinued. I talked to an Ikea rep. in Canada; she tried to help with a new top; local Ikea would not help. I was informed that none would be provided. I tried for 3 months to flatten it; no luck. The dresser reappeared back in stock April; I exchanged the old (with warped top) for a new one. It had a warped/cracked top; I exchanged that successfully at local Ikea. Then I found warped drawer wood pieces once I began assembly; exchanged. After 4 trips to Ikea I'm holding my breath with the completed dresser. Drawers are wobbly; the wood in the drawers is emitting horrible offgases (not dried properly?), as noted in another review. I'll give it a few weeks and see if it gets better. I have purchased Ikea furniture since 1985; has the quality gone this far down hill? I really needed a dresser this size so I was persistent with this one (and all the issues). We shall see....2
