Can I return my old mattress to IKEA?
Planning to purchase a new IKEA mattress? We are happy to help you recycle your old mattress.
When purchasing your new mattress, choose home delivery via truck and add the mattress return and recycling service. For €9,99 we will take your old mattress back and recycle it. Book this service yourself on our website or do it together with an IKEA employee in the bedding department or with our customer service.
At the moment, we do not offer this return and recycling service if you take the mattress with you from the store.
Good to know
Before handing over the old mattress, pack it in a plastic bag. We will provide you with this bag in the store if you book the service in a store, or our transport partner will provide it on the delivery day when you book the service online. We ask you to put the mattress in this bag yourself. Please make sure the old mattrass is ready at your front door.
Did you know that it takes up to 72 hours for a rolled-up mattress to take shape, but you can sleep on it right away? Feel free to exchange your old mattress on the same day.
The mattress return and recycling service is currently available in the IKEA stores in Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Delft, Duiven, Eindhoven, Groningen, Haarlem, Heerlen, Hengelo, Utrecht, and Zwolle. Soon, this will also be possible in Barendrecht and Breda.

We think it is important that your new mattress is comfortable and good. At IKEA, you therefore get 90 days to determine whether you are satisfied with your choice. We ask you to try the mattress for at least 4 weeks. A mattress has to get used to your body first, and vice versa!
