What is IKEA Buyback service?

When you are ready to let someone else enjoy your much-loved IKEA products, bring them back to an IKEA store. You’ll then get an IKEA gift card to make your next purchase more affordable, while your used items find a new home.

With the Buy back service, you can prolong the life of your IKEA furniture. We buy back your used furniture items in return for an IKEA gift card. Your pre-loved products will then be sold in our second chance corner in the store or online, where it provides a chance for someone else to give them a second life at an affordable price. It also helps IKEA to become more people and planet-positive and to transform into a circular company.

How do I enter my product to the Buyback?

To participate, follow the step-by-step process using the  Buyback estimator tool. Once you have completed the steps, you will receive an estimate of the Buyback value of your IKEA furniture.

What is the Buyback offer?

Depending on the condition of the product, you will receive a percentage of the original article price on an IKEA gift card. IKEA Family members receive an additional 15% resell value on their Buyback item.

What are the conditions for a Buyback?

All eligible items that qualify for the buyback service should be:
  • in good, resaleable condition,
  • clean and unmodified,
  • fully functional, complete with all parts such as legs,
  • properly assembled when returned,
  • complete with original product markings (a sticker with article number, name and other information).
We cannot accept component parts on their own, they must be part of a completely assembled piece of furniture, i.e. we do not accept doors without the frame to attach them to.
If we are unable to sell your second-hand IKEA products, we will dispose of them responsibly and recycle them wherever possible. Learn more about sustainability at IKEA.
