What can I do if my appliance isn’t working as it should?

If you’ve noticed a quality issue with your household appliance or it’s not working as it should, you can report this directly to the manufacturer if the product is still within guarantee.

Product quality and safety is a top priority for IKEA, and all products are carefully tested before they are sold. In addition to the 2-year legal guarantee, many appliances sold at IKEA are therefore also covered by an extended 5-year warranty through the manufacturer. By checking your receipt you can confirm if the product is still within guarantee. You can also log into your IKEA Family account, and go to Purchases if you used your IKEA Family membership at the time of purchase.

Check the User Manual for Troubleshooting information

Depending on the appliance and the issue, we recommend checking the User Manual (available online or printed together with the appliance). The Troubleshooting chapter explains how to handle common error codes and issues, which may help you resolve the problem on your own.

Contact the service partner

If you’ve checked everything and your appliance is still not working properly, a spare part or repair might be the solution. Enter the article number of the appliance in the service partner tool to get the name & contact details of the service partner. They will discuss whether a part can be ordered, a repair is possible, or an exchange is needed.
  • If it is within the warranty conditions, the solution is free of charge.
  • If it is outside the warranty conditions, you can pay for the spare part or repair to get the problem resolved.

The service partner is unknown

File a claim with a co-worker if the service partner is not available in the tool. You can connect with by typing “I want to talk to a co-worker” in the chat or contact us by phone and be ready with order number or receipt.

The appliance is no longer within warranty

You can order spare parts for appliances yourself through our partner ASCI.
