What should I do if my product is recalled?

If an IKEA product you own has been recalled, please stop using it immediately. Visit your nearest IKEA store or contact IKEA Customer Service to return it and claim a full refund.

All IKEA products are thoroughly designed and tested to ensure customer safety and compliance with applicable standards and legislation. Despite these testing standards, there are rare occasions when certain products must be recalled due to a previously undetected safety concern.
If you're an IKEA Family member, you will be contacted through email if a recall has been issued on a product you have bought where you have used your IKEA Family membership. You can also find all current recalls on IKEA.nl.
When a recall is issued for an IKEA product you own, please stop using the product immediately. If it requires a power source, please disconnect it as an extra precaution. You can return the product and receive a full refund by taking it to an IKEA store (except Plan & Order points) or by contacting the IKEA Customer Service online, depending on what's most convenient for you.

Bring the product to an IKEA store

If the product is small and you feel safe enough to move it, bring it to the customer service desk at your nearest IKEA store (except Plan & Order Points) as soon as possible.
If you still have your receipt, you will be able to get a refund to the original purchase method. If you used your IKEA Family card at time of purchase, you can also find your receipt by logging into your account and navigating to Purchases. If you don’t have your receipt for the recalled product, you’ll receive a refund on an IKEA digital refund card.

Contact IKEA Customer Service

Type ‘I want to talk to a co-worker’ in the chat or contact us by phone.
If the co-worker is able to locate your receipt/proof of purchase, you will receive a refund to the original payment method used to purchase the product. If a receipt cannot be found or you paid for the product in cash, you’ll receive a refund on an IKEA digital refund card.
The co-worker will also be able to guide you in how you safely can dispose the recalled product.
