Where should I place connection points and pipes in the kitchen?

When deciding where to place the connection points in your kitchen, use the design from the Kitchen Planner and the preparation report from the measuring service. Please note that there is very little space behind METOD cabinets for pipes, so these usually need to be routed under the cabinets or concealed in the wall.

Where should I place connection points in the kitchen?
  • After a measurement service, a report is drawn up by the installation partner.
  • If you move any pipes and connection points in your kitchen yourself, the report will indicate where they must be present before the installation starts.
  • Our installation partner or IKEA are not liable for the dimensions quoted. IKEA or the installation partner does not provide an official (structural) drawing or wiring diagram for the connections.
  • When you purchase the extra service for additional work from the installation partner, you can be sure that everything will be fine and you have a 5-year warranty on the installation of the additional work.
Tip: Do you use the IKEA kitchen installation service and do you manage the additional work yourself? Use the preparation report that you receive after the kitchen measurement service.
Are you installing your new kitchen yourself?
Print the front views of your kitchen design and give it to your installer. Based on this drawing, a plan can be made where you can make the connections for installation.

Where should I place the pipes in the kitchen?
The cabinet elements of our METOD kitchen series are hung on a METOD suspension rail on the wall. This creates about 1 cm of space behind the cabinets. Most pipes do require more space.
Mostly, you will have to run pipes under the cabinets or hide them in the wall. There is not enough space at the back of your METOD kitchen.
