How does the IKEA kitchen planning service work?
Here is an explanation about the whole process – from your initial thoughts to the final plan.
Even if you’re no professional and plan to have a measuring service, take some measurements of your room and obstacles (windows, doors, electricity and vent outlets). Have a look at our kitchen measurement video.
You can book the planning appointment online – both for an in-store or an online planning appointment.
You’ll receive a confirmation e-mail with some further instructions on how to get ready for your planning appointment.
If your plans change and you need to reschedule or cancel, please do it at least 24 hours in advance through the link in your confirmation e-mail.
Have all your kitchen measurements, inspiration and drawings ready for your planning appointment. If you’ve already made a plan in our kitchen planners, have it ready – this will help our specialists understand your needs and wishes.
During this planning appointment we will:
- Review your measurements and discuss your needs to make sure that the plan is functional
- Work with you to refine or create your kitchen design in the IKEA kitchen planner
- Help you select products, including appliances and worktops, that fit your style and budget
- Please note that we don’t advise you on structural changes to your space (such as removal of walls, moving plumbing or electrical connections)
After your planning appointment, you’ll receive a complete plan package. This includes a 3D design of your kitchen, a full product list, a kitchen quotation and an estimate of the services you requested. You can access your plan at any time in your IKEA profile.
You can now:
- Review your plan and check your measurements
- Decide which additional services you need (measuring service, delivery, installation, removal and recycling)
- Make final tweaks if needed and book a follow-up planning appointment to finalise your plan and book your order
