Product details

The hard-wearing solid pine has natural variations in grain, colour and texture, giving every piece a unique look.

If you oil, wax, lacquer or stain the untreated solid wood surface it will be more durable and easy to care for.

There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes - perfect for storing extra duvets and pillows.

You can easily vacuum under the bed frame to keep the space clean and dust-free.

Slatted bed base, mattress and bedlinen are sold separately.

Combine this bed frame with a slatted bed base with a max. thickness of 4 cm to keep the slats hidden in the frame. The slats of a higher bed base may be visible along the sides of the bed.

Poorly done, IKEAMandyHow do you sell a bed that does not come with a base??? How is that even possible? There is no shop in the world that sells a frame and not a base with it. We ordered on line and picked up our order only to get home (we live an hour away) and once we assembled the bed, we realised there was no base slats! Our granddaughter had to sleep on a mattress on the floor. This is poor IKEA and certainly not the type of thing we would expect from you. Very disappointing.1

Frame is sturdy but slats cave inRyanI would rate the bed frame 5 ⭐️ , but the function of the slats as a 2 ⭐️. I have had the double and queen version of this bed for over 10 years, but I purchased this single version for my daughter. The bed frame is sturdy as ever, however anyone weighing over 40kg lays on the edge of the bed, the slats cave in. It’s happened on multiple occasions whilst I have been reading a book to my daughter. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this bed because of this flaw unless you weigh under 40kg.2

Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful and renewable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood.

"Both the simple design and the untreated wood are typical for the Scandinavian furniture tradition. With TARVA series we wanted to show our roots and create a modern, airy design. We think it's nice to be able to feel the natural material just as it is. The wood is beautiful in its own right and it's also renewable. And because you can stain or paint it without further treatment, everyone can create their own TARVA. In that way, the design becomes a collaboration between us and the person who decorates it."
