My office chair has 4 castors, and now the protector has cracked right in the centre. I would not say the carpet is excessively spongy. I weigh 105 kg. Disappointing - I will have to tape it up to prevent the cracking from spreading (hopefully).2

It arrived without any protective wrapping at all, meaning that it had scratches on it, as well as a delivery sticker which I haven't been able to remove without the risk of further damage. Cracked after 7 weeks - poor qualityNotsetI've read reviews about it cracking shortly after use, and initially thought it was just individual cases, but it seems I was wrong. This mat is relatively cheap, but getting only 2 months of use out of it is poor value. The instructions didn't caution against use on carpet. Moreover, our previous mat (made of the same material) lasted several years on our low-pile carpet, so we expected this IKEA mat to be reasonably robust. We are very disappointed.2

Great value, tough, great for indoor wood floorsAlexIt doesn't 'roll up' or curl, been using this for 7 years to protect wood floors from office chair wheels. Easy to flip over and move around when I vacuum and mop the house. Easy care, just vacuum & mop them also (both sides). Have not seen any cracks or issues, the edges are rounded off and personally have not had issues with bumping toes onto them on hard floors.5

Better quality than most floor protectors!ToriI was going to buy a floor protector that was cheaper but this one is way better quality even though it's 40 dollars. The weight and thickness allows the chair to roll smoothly over it, the size is perfect and it comes flat so no need to unroll or have any kinks. All the desks in my house have one!4

Did the opposite of what it promisedRoyBought this to protect my timber floor, but after a year, I found noticeable scratches and dull patches exactly under the mat. Dust and grit trapped underneath acted like sandpaper. Disappointed, as it did the opposite of what it promised. Not recommended for timber floors.1

really stif and sharp on the edges, will make your toes (if hit) cryUzigot one from marsden park, clear and clean. got one from canberra (a week apart) was yellowish. If you're using this on some thick carpet, pls be aware of flexing of the edges when there is weight in the middle. learned this the hard way when my wife hit the edge of the plastic which was very hard which hurt the top of her toes. very good on hard floors. Have a look at other items with softer edgest or sturdier options that don't flex if you're using on thick carpets3
