Super versatile shelfDianaThis shelf was purchased to give me more organised storage in a furnished room in a share-house. It was the only shelf I found that would fit the extremely limited space that I had available. I used to store my dishes and baskets for toilettries & everything I needed to get ready in the mornings or to prep for bed. With the top shelf used to dry my dishes. It has now moved with me to my new flat with a TINY kitchen & very limited built-in storage. With my refrigerator & extra island technically overflowing into the lounge area, this shelf is slim enough to fit in the kitchen providing much needed additional storage - especially with the very limited counterspace. I now have my toaster, kettle & some other small appliances on the top shelf with a couple less-used ones on the bottom shelf. It is great place to have all of my hot beverage additives available and ready for easy access & use. I am also using it to store the larger sealed containers that store open products away from bugs.
Get a Drill, a measuring tape, a hacksaw, some clamps, a square and a spirit level.DavidThese shelves are great if you completely throw away the instructions and look at this product as 4 pieces of angle bracket and some folded metal shelves.
Always buy the long ones, you get an extra shelf. If the uprights are too tall, cut them down to size and put the feet on the end you cut (because it's sharp).
Install a shelf in the highest and lowest hole, use a drill so you can spin the screw whilst applying pressure to thread the hole.
Once assembled, use the tape, clamps and level to get the shelf flat and in the position you want, then drill a pilot hole through the shelf's holes from the back (or mark with a marker), remove the shelf and drill to the correct size, then install the screws.
Congrats, you now have a purpose built shelving solution. Buy more of the short one for extra shelves, or arrange the shelves to suit your application, and it's cheaper than BROR.
If placing the shelves next to each other, use some short nuts and bolts to attach them together.

Good value but fiddlyEllieThese shelves are very handy and look great, but they are very fiddly to put together. You absolutely need two people to assemble as it would be impossible on your own. Once they are up they are excellent and you can't complain for the price.

Story
HYLLIS creates room for life on the balcony
Some of us live smaller than we’d like. It often means a constant hunt for more space. So why not try and use the space we have in smarter ways? This was something our product developers wanted to help out with when they created a small version of HYLLIS – a shelf that fits almost anywhere – and can be used if you want to grow your own herbs and small plants.
Philip Dilé, one of the members in the development team behind HYLLIS, live in an apartment with balcony in southern Sweden. “My balcony is filled with stuff. I’d like to use it for something other than storage, and I think many of our customers feel the same way.”
