Do I install an IKEA dishwasher or washing machine in a cupboard or under the worktop?

Dishwashers and washing machines from IKEA are always on legs. The device should therefore not be placed in a cupboard but between or next to other cupboards.

To prevent the door of your dishwasher from getting stuck, it is useful to take 2 millimeters extra space for the placement. For most dishwashers, this means you need a space that is 602mm wide.

Is your dishwasher not in between two cabinets and is the side of your dishwasher visible? Then you can finish the dishwasher by placing a cover panel directly against the dishwasher on the open side. For a perfect finish, choose a cover panel in the same style as your kitchen fronts.

Use a high panel and cut it to the correct size so that the panel can be placed between the floor and your worktop. Place the sawn-off side against the bottom of the worktop. To secure the cover panel to the floor, you can purchase seat corners at a hardware store. These are not available separately at IKEA.

Have you bought a kitchen from another seller and do you want to install an IKEA dishwasher? Keep in mind that the kitchen front that you mount on your dishwasher may not be mounted as indicated in the installation manual.

Universal mounting fittings are available at hardware stores and can be used to mount the kitchen front on your IKEA dishwasher.
