What can I do if my IKEA fridge or freezer makes a lot of noise?
There may be several reasons why the appliance makes more noise than you expect. Most common troubleshooting solutions can be found in the appliance manual.
Ambient temperature too high or too low or insufficient ventilation
If the ambient temperature of your refrigerator differs from the climate class that applies to the appliance, the appliance may switch on and off more frequently than normal. Also, if you have a source of heat right next to your refrigerator or the warmer air cannot be properly vented away from the appliance, the appliance must work harder to keep the refrigerator cool. This causes more noise.
Cabinet vibrations
Refrigerators mounted in a kitchen cabinet should be level and not wedged between the cabinet walls. Otherwise, small vibrations from the appliance can be amplified by the cabinet. You will then hear a hum when the appliance turns on. So check that your refrigerator is properly mounted.
If you are sure that the appliance has been installed correctly and you have not been able to find the cause, please contact the kitchen appliance service partner.
