Which castors go with which floor surface?

Many of our castors are suitable for all floors. There are exceptions. To cut to the chase, if the castor is completely black or white, it is only suitable for soft floors. If the castor has a grey tread, it is suitable for all floors. The separately available PARAGRAF castors are suitable for hard floors.

Why don't office chair castors always roll smoothly?

That's for safety. The castors have a braking mechanism that keeps the chair in place when you get up and automatically unlocks when you sit down.
