Experience, taste and create — this is how you can celebrate Swedish Midsummer

Experience the Swedish Midsummer

There are decorated Midsummer trees everywhere in the country. The maypole can look different per region, but basically it is always a cross-shaped tree with lots of greenery and decorations. People are dressed in traditional costumes and there is a lot of music, mostly accordion and guitar music, and songs.

Taste the Swedish Midsummer

A traditional meal cannot be missed at Swedish celebrations. It consists of potatoes cooked in dill, served with different types of herring in sour cream with chives and butter. Of course,  Swedish meatballs and some salmon are also included. Sweet, refreshing lemonade is served. And the dessert? Delicious fresh strawberries!

Create Swedish Midsummer

During Swedish Midsummer, people often dress in traditional costumes and wear a wreath of flowers. Branches with leaves and flowers in different colours are collected and woven together into a beautiful wreath. Surround yourself with flowers during the festivities for an extra colourful atmosphere.
