Climate and environment
As a global brand meeting many millions of customers around the world every day, we have a big climate footprint, and therefore a big responsibility to reduce it, from how we source raw materials and run our operations, through to the products and services we offer our customers.
Climate action
If we are to make the planet a safer and healthier place for generations to come, the world needs effective, organised and innovative action.

We are committed to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and to reach net zero emissions by 2050.
Zero-emission IKEA deliveries
At IKEA, we have committed to achieve more than 90%* of home deliveries made by zero-emissions vehicles by 2028 to cut carbon emissions and reduce our climate footprint.
*We previously communicated a goal of 100% zero-emission home deliveries by 2025. As of spring 2025, this has been revised to reflect real-world constraints, including limited charging infrastructure, electric vehicle supply shortages, and delivery challenges in remote and hilly areas.
Circular business is good business
We aim to transition towards a circular business. As part of this transition, we’re developing products and services to help maintain, repair and pass on their belongings.
IKEA sustainability ambitions for 2030
The IKEA Sustainability Strategy is to inspire, activate and lead us in our planning, decision-making and goal setting so that we together can achieve the big positive changes we want to see for the IKEA business, and in the world.
Choosing more sustainable materials
We are continuing our journey towards only sourcing renewable or recycled materials by 2030. We aim to use only renewable or recycled materials and to provide new solutions for our customers to prolong the life of products and materials.
