Climate and environment

As a global brand meeting many millions of customers around the world every day, we have a big climate footprint, and therefore a big responsibility to reduce it, from how we source raw materials and run our operations, through to the products and services we offer our customers.

Zero-emission IKEA deliveries

At IKEA, we have committed to achieve more than 90%* of home deliveries made by zero-emissions vehicles by 2028 to cut carbon emissions and reduce our climate footprint.

*We previously communicated a goal of 100% zero-emission home deliveries by 2025. As of spring 2025, this has been revised to reflect real-world constraints, including limited charging infrastructure, electric vehicle supply shortages, and delivery challenges in remote and hilly areas.

Choosing more sustainable materials

We are continuing our journey towards absolute decoupling of virgin, non-renewable material use from IKEA business growth by 2030. We aim for an increase in the share of recycled and renewable content in IKEA products to at least 90%. In addition, we aim to provide new solutions for our customers to prolong the life of products and materials.
