Forget about struggling with heavy and bulky parasol bases – IGGÖN is easy to bring home, install and move thanks to the practical handles on each bag.
Don’t worry about hitting your toes, since sandbags are softer and gentler on your feet than stone or concrete, even when fully filled with sand.
The sandbags are made from 90% recycled polyester, a durable and waterproof textile that resists mould and dirt.
The parasol base will last longer and keep looking fresh since the fabric of the sandbags is fade resistant and easy to remove if it needs to be washed.
The grey-coloured sandbags gives a discreet impression and coordinates nicely with most surroundings.
The cross base is made of durable stainless steel.

The parasol’s best friend
The parasol base might not be the first thing you think of when planning your balcony or terrace. But it’s actually quite important for your outdoor life to be enjoyable, even on the sunniest days. IGGÖN parasol base with sandbags makes it easy to get that small but important detail in place.
”We decided to make a really smart parasol base, one that fits all of our parasols,” says product developer Gunilla Hansson. “That way, you don’t have to choose between different models. Instead, you can put all focus on the actual parasol, the furniture, and everything else that makes your outdoor space pleasant.” Before, there were concrete and plastic parasol bases in our product range. They were good and did their job. “But it’s not sustainable to ship heavy concrete around. Also, the parasol bases were awkward for customers to transport home,” Gunilla explains.
Bags filled with sand
IGGÖN is anything but awkward. It consists of a metal base and textile bags that you carry home in a small box. You fill the bags with sand and hook them together so they sit steadily and keep the metal base in place. The outer fabric of the bags, in a neutral grey colour, is made from a water-repellent and mostly recycled textile. “We tested the bags outdoors an entire winter, and even though they had to withstand rain, wind, and snow, they looked really nice afterwards,” says Gunilla.
Strong but kind
IGGÖN is stable and reliable and does exactly the same job as a traditional parasol base. But it’s much easier to handle and move around. Simply lift the sandbags by the handles, move the parasol, and put the bags back in place again. Perhaps IGGÖN is a bit kinder, too. “The sand-filled bags are soft against bare summer feet. Even if you or a small family member happens to stumble into them toes first.”
