Can I get a refund of the Swiss VAT?
Yes, it is possible for diplomats and customers who take their goods abroad.
Diplomats and customers who take goods abroad and shop online or at a store can apply for a value-added tax (VAT) refund. Diplomats need to have spent a minimum of 100 CHF, while customers need to have spent at least 300 CHF.
Important:
If the purchase was made in a store, the application must be submitted directly to customer service on site on the same day.
Subsequent refunds are only possible within one month and exclusively at the consulate in Bern.
